Had a lovely meal here lots of choice but they don't have a great selection of gluten free food , they cater for large groups of people eating, it was very busy when we went on a Friday, there is a carpark and a beer garden, seems to be wheelchair friendly
I'd normally leave a higher rating for this pub but we were very disappointed with the quality of our Xmas lunch. The price per head was steep so I would have expected a much higher standard. The main course itself was poor, tasteless and dry. I wouldn't recommend for Xmas but other at other time's we have enjoyed eating at the pub. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We were there on Saturday, I was so underwhelmed, the lamp above the table was dusty and really dirty, with cobwebs…not nice when you’re eating! My husband had the ultimate burger and thought someone had eaten half his chips! I had fish chips and peas, the fish was small and tasteless, but I was so disappointed with how stingy the peas were!! I told the waitress when she asked how our meals were and she said … it’s the chef, he’s been told before but doesn’t take any notes!! Wow! … we won’t be back anytime soon! Hiked prices, smaller portions, and really dirty decor! Nope, a big pass.
On 23 rd march 23,I revisited case gardens because the thoughtful staff had found my cuff link.Rachel called Mr this morning told me I could collect it today. While there,I and a friend had good lunch of the high standards expected of this pub. A wide range of drinks at reasonable prices.Thank you everyone at the castle. Ray
Went in with friends we all got breaded mushrooms starter and fish and chips Main.The mushrooms nearly broke my teeth and then the fish and chips came . A small child portion of chips and the fish well there wasn't any it was all batter I tried to cut it in half and the batter was that hard it exploded on the plate I sent it back and after 15 mins got another but this time the batter was slimey so it left that. On the good side the desert was OK. Will never go again.
Booked it for sisterinlaws birthday, somewhat disappointed as Duo Sunday roast wasn't very hot, veg undercooked, other meals, seabass fish and chips, hunters chicken,and rump steak meals were better We had caramel apple crumble for dessert, and that was very nice . We will come again because I believe in giving another chance to redeem themselves
quick service however the same 2 meals were completely different sizes the peas were cold. The worst meal we have had at the Castle Gardens .
Had good food the first time we visited, but unfortunately every time since has been very poor... Small portions of overcooked, mass produced food: Burger, lasagne, steak pie, dessert - all completely low-end and underwhelming... Good selection of beers and the fire is nice, but nobody ever answers the phone or returns a voicemail to book a table by the fire, so you're very lucky if you can ever get near it.
Enjoyed a lovely meal to celebrate my brother’s birthday last night 30th Jan. Excellent service, great atmosphere and fantastic food! Thanks x
As always had a great Sunday dinner. Great friendly atmosphere. Staff are welcoming. Rachel is a valuable staff member. All ways friendly and with a smile on her no matter how busy it is
