They do a £5 meal deal which comes with a sauce of choice. Asked for the sauce in a small pot for dipping instead of being poured all over my food and was told no and id have to pay extra… Ridiculous and petty. Food was nasty too fish was over cooked and mostly batter.
Nice place. I had the fish and chip special for 4 pounds suggested by the girl serving me, thanks. Good value. Small fish with a decent amount of chips. Quite filling and pretty decent.

Quantity of a large portion isn't accurate as we only got no more than 20 chips definitely won't return food only just average.
£9.55 for fish and chips for 1 person!!! WOW! Absolutely ridiculous and the worst fish & chips I’ve ever had. Went straight in the bin. Not sure why I was charged £9.55 when fish and chips are shown as £4 on the menu??? Not to mention I gave £10.50 and was told I was still short??? Avoid

#1 in Doncaster I've tried all the top reviewed in Donny and this has the best fish + chips. I travel around Doncaster a lot for work and it amuses me how Whitby's is ranked higher than this place...must be lack of reviews the Castle has.
Best fish and chips in the country, I moved to denaby a couple of months ago and a kind neighbour recommended Castle fish bar. Excellent service and lovely atmosphere and service
One of the best fish & chips for miles with a good variety. I wish they did options to allow for allergens though
