Story

Modern re-creation of a Scottish city or tenement bar. The single room, with windows front and back, is divided by a horseshoe bar with a dark wood gantry that is adorned with decorative wooden casks. The walls support a fine range of old photos, framed advertisements and historic brewery and distillery mirrors. A good place to try real ales from interesting breweries UK wide.

Took a chance on a table being available, details taken and were given a nice corner table. The place was spotless. Table service and a one way system in place. Staff were constantly cleaning tables and taking used glasses away. Service was really quick. Toilets really clean.
Lovely place with fantastic live folk music. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good beer. Very clean and tidy. Defo will come back for a pint. Thanks guys for amazing evening.
Good traditional pub, I've always been comfy here with a good pint.
Brilliant pub, classic Edwardian interior and a cracking selection of real ales. Favourite pub in Edinburgh.
Gone into pub tonight and my first beer was finished. So had another cask ale which was nice. Then went for a meal and returned to find 2 more real ales of. Left just after 11:15 and still 4 not on. Why?
exactly the definition of a proper British 'boozer'. great selection of cask beers, friendly staff, plenty of places to sit and no loud music. perfect.
Lovely local pub. Quite large with a distinct working class flair. Several screens showing different sports horse racing, football, anything els one can bet on. Haunted by tourists at times.
Nice friendly pub with a good range of real ales. Visit and you will be made to feel very welcome. Care taken over every drink served.
Great selection of well kept real ales changed daily also some fine malt whisky 35ml servings.
