It was my first time in carluccios today. Found plastic wrapping in my chicken (plastic cooking paper). Sent it back. My mother ordered a pasta dish - it was average at best. AT BEST. Ate half and left the rest. Manager sorted it out so can’t complain about the service, although I most certainly won’t be coming back. It’s a real shame as the layout is really nice and modern, giving the impression the food would be on a good level. Food - 2 stars - chicken tasted as if it had be frozen and then Deep fat fried - but was edible and better than... oh actually no, I could have cooked this better. 😬 Pasta was cooked well but the seasoning was so muted that even my mum (who’s a vegan that doesn’t ever complain) said it tasted plain. Sorry guys!

Such a shame about this place. Used to be great when they first opened and we used to go there every weekend. In the last few months it's really gone downhill. The staff is slow, rude and without any sense of priorities or memory. The food quality has deteriorated. On our last visit we had to wait ages to order and once we ordered we had to wait for another 20 minutes for another waiter to asks we've been served. And this is for two glasses of wine! It wasn't busy at the time and there were 3-4 waiting staff. Only reason for 2 star is in hope of new management to bring it up to the standard it once was.

Good food, eggs Florentine, brekkie magnifico , panettone, drinks, what is not to like. And the price is reasonable, the place is clean and warm.

This is the best Carluccios ever - and I've been to many around the UK. The manager is so passionate about Italian food, and is enthusiastic to share that passion with others. He can tell you what kind of pasta goes best with each sauce, and knows the ingredients for each dish. If you need a special diet for an allergy or preference then it's fine and can be adjusted. They're more than happy to spend time with each customer to get the right dish. Whether that's cheese and no chilli or gluten free then they'll do it willingly.
