Great little place. only sells drinks, no food. At the end of the small bar there is a place where musicians sit and play. Some of them are more professional, some are less but it doesn't matter, in any case its very nice and fun.
Stumbled upon this pub and had an memorable experience there hearing a cappella renditions of folk songs while nursing a couple of pints. A treasure.
Called in for half and stayed for few as beer was grand. Great craic with friendly barman, musicians and other customers. The live music was great and not just folk but varied. Great way to spend few hours on Monday afternoon x
Wonderful bar. Interior looks like a ship which is truly unique. We visited just to relax and have a beer. They played music when we visited, which was a nice comforting touch.
Stopped here after a show at the Festival Theatre. Bartender very rude and a generally unwelcoming atmosphere. If you want to sit in silence listening to folk music - go for it. if not, avoid...
Nice small pub with local beers and good whisky. There are many musicians here and their music takes you home and waiters are kind and helpful. I recomand this bar for a unique atmosphere.

Probably the best wee bar in the area. If you're after quiet and friendly environment with live folk music every day and decent beer on tap - you have reached your destination. Great place with amazing soul to it. One of those places when you go for a pint and don't wanna leave. Ever. Mind it's quite a small place for maybe not for larger groups.
My boyfriend and I came here countless times - it's a great bar with fantastic live music, the owners are so fun and are always there to talk with you, and there aren't many tourists at all, more locals. You absolutely have to order the Blind Pig cider! If there are lots of people in there around peak holiday times, you'll be hard pressed to find room to stand, but it's a fun bar to be at regardless! If you're only making a quick trip to Edinburgh, this is a great local bar to make sure you visit.
Came here spontaneously and had a wonderful time. Drank tasty local beer and was treated to authentic Scottish music. Friendly service and lively clientele.
