A great little ground with lots of character, it has quite a big capacity for it's level just over 4000nIt has a terrific bar as well, Canvey should definitely put on more bar staff though, especially if they get a big crowd.
Very hard bread rolls and slow service at the foot hut alright burger and hotdog. Bar service was good. Too many cargo ships sailed past and distracted me from the football however it didn’t matter as the game was incredibly boring and nothing happened.
Lots of car parking available, a large and modern club house, terracing and seated stands don't sit in the first row the top of the barrier hides the pitch at pitch level. Every member of the staff we met were very welcoming. The only downside really were the toilets. The club house one's were definitely the best, but even one there had a broken seat. On a warm Spring day the ground was a nice place to be, being only about 100yds from the sea though, in the winter, it could be a different story. But yeah a good ground.
Friendly staff and great banter with the Canvey fans. First shout WAS a penalty as well !!!
Not my comments, but from a Southend fan.. can't fault the pitch, the bar is lovely. Why oh why was there only two people serving??? Bar is easily big enough for 4 staff.in fact I have been before when it was a tiny bar.. 4 staff working service was much quicker. You would have made lots more money if you made full advantage of the big bar. Especially when one member spent ten minutes fighting with the card machine. Dave sufc
