Family owned and established for over 40 years we are possibly the longest running workshop in Canvey Island. We are not part of any franchise or chain, just a local garage with honest mechanics you can trust.
Your safety is our key objective and our value for money service ensures you hassle free motoring at an affordable cost.
We offer a full range of great value services for all types of cars and vans from personal vehicles to commercial fleets.
We also cater for classic vehicles with a vast experience in classic Volkswagens, Porsche and most American cars and trucks.

This company was helpful, friendly, did the work the same day and at a very good price. I took my car to another garage on Canvey who I won't name and they wanted over £400.00 A&R did the repair for £40.00 which was a simple welding job. They saved me time and money which I will not forget and will be going back to them if I have anymore problems.

Very happy with my A & R experience. I have an Jag XK8 that is garaged and only comes out in the summer months. As I live abroad time is of the essence when I visit UK. The car needed work and A & R took her on keeping me up to date with the progress and returned her good as new.......I highly recommend this garage and will now use no one else.

A long story so I'll keep it short!! Had a noise from our VW Tiguan a rattle/knocking under heavy acceleration, Took it to 4 garages, 1st Said they couldn't find the problem, 2nd said it could be a link to the gearbox, 3rd said it may be gearbox or clutch, 4th which was VW Romford said they couldn't find any problem to which I laughed and said that a past mechanic said it could be a gearbox...low and behold they back after another test drive and said it is the gearbox at a cost to myself of around £4200!!! for a car of 5 years and 30,000 I decided to give it one more try...along come AR Motors who was suggested by a friend. Along with the others they were stumped to start with but 2 hours of testing found lose gear linkage cable which they tightened and it resolved the noise. Overall it cost just over £100, and car is fine, so to all you customers out there and mainly VW owners don't be put off by NOT taking to a dealer and give the smaller businesses a try. I have found a honest a non intimiadting garage who are down to earth and generally want to help at an honest price. Well done AR and thanks Gareth & Tina
