Absolutely shocking and disgusting behaviour! I reached out in desperate need of housing help! I have not heard from them in months! They seemed so genuine and concerned before applying for the government funding as soon as i signed and filled out everything they went missing! I have emailed and called multiple times a day for months! I have left voicemails and have been abandoned and left with no contact, support or update! They have triggered my anxiety and depression and completely unbothered by people who really need help just all about the money! I will be contacting my local MP of my area as i already have a strong connection with her due to reaching out to her before.
Came here because I wasn’t confident in doing my tribunal appeal as my mandatory reconsideration was rejected by UC as I was unfairly sanctioned for not attending an appointment. I had a slipped disk injury which left me paralysed and I’m prone to getting sick a lot. I notified UC each time and following my last incident told them I can attend again. All was well till they purposely gave me no appointment in 2 months and sanctioned me unfairly. The basis of the sanction was unfair as I had proof of my sickness which can easily be acquired on the NHS GP medical history record. Long story short, I was with Orla who was optimistic and being my first time, I didn’t want to ‘mess it up’, but looking back, this was an extremely easy case to prove in my favour supplying the info I gave Orla. She also asked me why I didn’t attend and that it’s not a good look, although subtle, I’m not stupid and picked up on it. As someone who’s going through severe depression and anxiety from family death, multiple injuries and pain etc, the last thing you need is a lecture. Just do the job. In the end she advised it was impossible, it was ‘my fault’ and she will withdraw from representing me. No offence, but the little she did to me gave me the idea she was clueless but It was a good thing she came to this decision because a few months after our encounter, I decided to do it, and within a week the decision was overturned in my favour before reaching court which I was anxious about. In conclusion, you need better trained and more professional staff when using our tax money to employ these people.
I am very grateful for all hard work Mr Leyens has done for me regarding my case . He is very professional, knowledgeable and supportive lawyer. He supported me patiently during the whole process and he gave me the best advice in order to achieve the best outcome. Here is SOME examples of his support: 1- providing the highest level of support and advice on my case. 2- challenging council for my rejected homelessness application in order to get my temporary accommodation. 3- assisting me to obtain supporting medical evidence for my case which helped me get my medical points to bid based on my circumstances. As a result I have got my Permanent place. 4- supporting me with my housing application while I had some difficulties to receive my housing benefit. I wish him the best of luck in his career and I highly recommend him to anyone who need help.
I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the lawyer Oscar who handled my case. A lawyer who is capable of his work, works with distinguished professionalism. He provided me with legal advice in all sincerity and was the light that guided me to take the appropriate decisions in my case and was a psychological and moral support for me in overcoming my most difficult circumstances. A well-deserved lawyer in his style and way of dealing with matters. I highly recommend him
Waw... I don't know how to express my gratitude to the friendly and most dedicated lawyer Mr Oscar. Thank you for all the help and assistance your rendered to me. Finally I won the case because of your hard work & assistance. Thank you so much.
Oscar was very honest, competent, knowledgeable and professional, while dealing with my case. He gave me all the relevant information, which helped me to make the right decision. From my personal experience with other solicitors, Oscar is the best. I would highly recommend him.
I've need Legal advice .I've been trying to get through to them to make an appointment for 2 weeks now. It's always engaged. Today the phone rang for the first time. I thought at last I can finally make an appointment. But it just rang and rang no one answered and then it went dead. So what is the point of this community law centre if you cant through to them. I suppose your not a valued client these days if your not rich.
Cronyism and nepotism at its best. Instead of representing vulnerable and low income household with public funds, lawyers here represent their family members/relatives etc, who does not live in Camden or even in London and are earning well over the threshold enough to afford independent legal representation. This service should only be available to people who are eligible for it by virtue of their circumstances. Shame of you. The government should cut your funding if it's not used for the purposes designated.
I made an appointment to see the lawyer about over 3 years ago as soon as he got the paperwork from DWP he did not want to help. I only saw him once for 5 minutes. He just told me that my case was complicated and he did not know about anything about the benefits system. I wonder why when I phoned them and told my situation they made an appointment for me to see there lawyer.
I will be eternally grateful to the Camden Law Centre, in particular Daniel Godfrey and Miranda. The centre provide free advice on many areas of the law. The negative comments on here do not reflect the experience I had of this service. I could not have managed my employment tribunal without Daniel. He was honest and professional, hardworking and knowledgeable. I can't thank him enough. Thank you Daniel.
