I just want to say a thank you to Charlotte. We usually go to Calder vets Waterloo branch, but on our way back from spinal surgery in Leeds our dog had what appeared to be a seizure and we urgently needed help. We called the Brighouse branch as that's which we were closest to while driving. Charlotte was very calming and had lots of time for us over the phone and gave us the perfect advice. Thank you Charlotte
Most of the staff are lovely. However, the company clearly prioritise money over the welfare of the pets. They clearly are set up to exploit power insurance to the max. We were quoted over 1600 for a treatment, we decided to go to another vets and were quoted 580 for the same treatment. They also refuse to take action on issues without a barrage of unnecessary tests. Again the staff are in the whole lovely but this place is designed to use the affection of pet owners to strip as much money as possible from us. If you Google the parent company you will see multiple stories about their dodgy practices
I have been with Calder for the last 3 years and have had no complaints. I would definitely recommend the Calder Vets at Brighouse, it's not just a job to them, they genuinely care for you and your pets. Bruno, my dog used to hate the vet, but is more calmer now since Joel, the vet has started to see him with his yearly check ups. He also did a good job with a tumour removal on his leg. All of the other staff took good care of him during and after surgery. This is why I won't go anywhere else. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. A brilliant practice. From a very satisfied customer.
I've had multiple experiences with both my kittens and they were looked after very well. Receptionists are lovely and friendly when greeting or answering the phone. I would highly recommend.
Was seen quickly. The vet was lovely. Explained everything - gave 3 options. Advised what he would do & I agreed. Receptionist was great too. I do find them slightly more expensive than other vets though.
Finally the day came after 14 years our beautiful dog Lexie had to go to her final resting place. She was part of our family so it was very painful. However, Amanda and all the team could not have been more compassionate, caring and professional. We weren't rushed at all, nothing was too much. Lexie passed away so peacefully. Amanda was brilliant in explaining everything before we made our decision. We cannot thank them enough and have no hesitation in recommending this practice in Brighouse to anyone. Thank you from all the family.
We were greeted with professionalism of a very high standard from the word go. The staff were genuinely friendly and out pet received 5 star treatment from the moment we got to the surgery. We felt we were in safe hands, the service we received was fabulous and we received a follow up call the day after our dog's surgery which we have never had from any other vet in the past. We can't speak highly enough about Calder vets, they genuinely care about their patients and customers, we are just sorry we didn't register with them sooner. They blow the competition out of the water and we would recommend them to everyone - if your pet needs treatment, Calder vets is the best place to be
Definitely do NOT recommend this vet. Took my cat in, they did a urine sample and she showed signs of cystitis, however was told her urine was clear and she did not need any treatment. Even though this is not a serious health condition it can be incredibly uncomfortable for cats. Annoyed that I had to call back and ask about the results again and was given no explanation of why the initial Vet did not decide to tell us about this and offer treatment. Will not be returning to this veterinary practice.
Our 2 cats have been here a couple of times for vaccinations and spaying after we adopted them from Huddersfield Ferals and strays. The service has been great. Every staff member we have dealt with - receptionists, nurses and vets has been lovely and welcoming. Only small downside is that car park is tiny but plenty of on street parking nearby.
This veterinary practice provides excellent service and staff are always helpful and polite. We had to have our family dog euthanized and the team delt with this with the utmost care, compassion and consideration. Extremely pleased with their practice. *Edit, I just recieved a condolence card from them too. So thoughtful.
