Making ludicrous amounts of profit is the name of the game here - choose a small independent vet that isn't controlled by management insisting on making the most money out of every appointment. Every time I have been I am told the most expensive route first. Only when I ask if there is an alternative, do I find out there is a cheaper, more sensible solution. However the thing that made me move vets is the scenario which made me unbelievably angry. I went once because my cat had been in a fight and needed antibiotics for a wound. The vet randomly asked if my cat ever coughed. I said yes, sometimes. When I started looking into the symptoms and found he maybe had athsma, I thought I better get him insured before I had him diagnosed. But Calder Vets had already noted it on his records. So I went it for a completely unrelated issue but they took it upon themselves to write that he might have asthma. Hence any insurance I took out would not cover him for that. They don't actually care about your pet, they care about money first and always, and will bleed you dry whilst taking advantage of your emotions, as they did to various members of my family who had poorly dogs.

Absolutely brilliant vets. Lovely friendly people that truly care for animals. Our dog is frightened of the vets through an experience with a different vets. Calder vets let us wait outside until it.s time to go in. So glad we chose Calder vets.

Chuck our springer was under these great guys for 10 years, he was an unlucky puppy where illness was concerned but these guys bandaged up and got him up and running more than a few times, last night 08/01/18 we had to say goodbye to him they were fantastic no rushing us out spent plenty of time with him before we said farewell, best vets ever thanks guys for all your help

called them out to pts my old dog she was not well they was very caring towards the dog and me explaining what was gonna happen i was heartbroken but it was the right thing to do and i stayed with her untill she went over 🌈bridge they even sent me a card to say sorry of my loss would definitely recommend this place thanks x

Love using this vets, they are friendly, helpful and really care from the receptionists to the vets themselves. They have looked after my pets for over 9 years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. My dog, Ella, is elderly now but she is treated like an old friend every time we visit. Ella has grown particularly fond of Natalie who is the vet we always see. Considering animals are often nervous of vets, and I have a particularly nervous dog, Ella is always happy to visit Calder Vets in Brighouse and that makes me very happy too!
