Cakes & Bakes

Always use this shop for fresh cakes and have been doing so for a number of years. Good quality cakes and pastries. Never experienced any issues with customer service these days it's select it, pay for it and go. Negative side is NO parking. Also once or twice the cakes have been on the dry side, on questioning, the staff advised to remove the cake from the fridge 1 hour before consumption if you're planning to store it for a while.

##DO NOT GO THERE!!! ###I have been coming here for more than 2 years for my breakfast. And I would not say that they have the friendliest staff there. I always have one lamb curry roll and a cup of tea most of the time. And in the past few months I had a few incidents where the curry roll was cold and hard. (not bad, but just not as tasty and hot as I was used to from them), so each time I went back the next morning and I told the lady who was serving me they didn't even apologise, instead said I should have brought it back. And that I probably was waiting to long to eat, and each time explained to them that I just walked over to the station which is just 2mins away to eat their products. Anyway. When I went there today I had the worst experience ever! 😠 So I bought the roll and my tea like I usually do. But when I took the roll out to eat (this is while I was still in the shop) it was hard and cold, so I told the girl that was serving me that it is not up to the standard. She in return replied saying I should not have touched the roll they can not exchange it for me, I asked her why because I hadn't eaten it and obviously I will touch it assuming it will be fine to eat, she in return started getting angry and that me that she had never seen something like me before in her life, she stood there forever refusing to change my roll. I said to her that I am sorry that she has never seen something like this before, but basic customer service skills says that even if I had a bite in my roll she still would need to replace it. And she still refused, so I asked her for her name and I asked to speak to the manager. That's when she packed me another roll. I was fuming by her behaviour, I didn't even check the roll that she gave me. The cheek of the whole thing was when I returned the old roll to her at the end she ordered me to put it in the bin! I was fuming so I left. I missed my train and was late for work and all this just over a £1.30 roll!!! The staff there really needs training on customer service! One thing is clear. I won't be returning there!

First paying customer! How exciting! And didn't fail to disappoint. The quiche, the brioche, the preserve (rhubarb, rose and raspberry) devine! Salad and the rest of the quiche waits me for lunch! The taste buds are in heaven.
