Got sat at a table and left for 10 minutes before being handed the menus, then another 10 mins before asking if we wanted a drink. Took over 2hours to get popadoms and a main. This included having to chase the guy down everytime if we wanted another drink or to actually pay the bill. Food very average, menu really poor, hardly any selection at all. Couldn't recommend it at all.
I bought a Wowcher deal to go here with my husband one evening. £16 for a tasting menu and a drink. The building was easy to find and some free parking at the rear, with a rear doorway to go in so you don't have to walk all the way around to the front door. We were greeted by a smiley, friendly chap and then invited to choose where in the spacious restaurant we would like to sit so off we went to a window seat. The waiters were helpful and one in particular was very knowledgeable about the available menu on the Wowcher deal. The meal consisted of a vegetarian dish and a lamb dish that you shared after you had eaten your poppadum and sauces,. This was followed by a tiered dish holder containing three Balti dishes, in them were chicken tikka masala I am allergic to lamb so had requested no murghi , a lamb dish and a vegetarian dish. These were accompanied by unlimited rice and naan. The desert was a gulab juman with ice cream or a coffee. The meal was served with your choice of a jug of cocktail which was very pleasant! The food was easily the best food I have eaten in a long time from an Indian restaurant or takeaway as they offer that service too.When we left we booked straight back in for the following weekend! Upon our return the meal was just as good serving up some of the most original and delicious recipes from Indian cuisine. Both times the food sat well on me as sadly Indian food can leave me bloated, Café Rickshaw the food didn't it was lovely. Will make this restaurant one of our regular ones from now on.Many thanks to the lovely staff, and the amazingly talented chefs, the whole team are excellent.
Absolutely GREAT - Been eating with these guys for nearly 7 years now and followed them from The Standard Restaurant. Always very polite, great food and customer service!
