I rented a road bike for a day from C & N. it was bittersweet. On the upside there is a lot of terrific riding to be done in Surrey and I got to do some. Also, on the upside the staff did go the extra mile (literally) to fix the problems with the bike they gave me. But there were problems with the bike. Preventable ones. When the newly inflated front tire blew before the bike even left the store, that should have been a sign. But staff quickly (without checking the tire) replaced the tube and sent me on my way. The front tire blew again about 15km later. There were two easily noticeable tears in the sidewall. The staff got in their car and drove out to me with a new wheel as fast as they could. But I reckon I was standing around for about 40 minutes. He swapped out the wheel and drove off. I hopped on and noticed immediately that the rear wheel had lost most of its pressure. Fortunately the staff person noticed me, pulled over and we swapped the rear tube. And he gave me another. That was good for another 70 or so km. But I had 30 more to go and the sun was setting when the rear tire started going flat again. Since swapping the tube hadn’t worked, I pumped the tire back up. Thank goodness the pump they supplied was a good one. So I did that three or for times in the last 25km of my ride. When I got back the staff were friendly and efficient but pretty zen about what had happened. No apologies. They expressed surprise “we didn’t have any flats all last year”. But my feeling is they should not have sent me out on two worn out tires and that I should not have trusted them to verify the integrity of the tires.

I was cycling from London to Madrid 15th of Feb , I stopped at Redhill, I needed to change my rout and by some stuff . There I found Paul, he really helped me creating a route for my gaming on his PC, and sent it to me by mail, so I managed my way down to Brighton in a breeze That was really helpful, Thanks Paul .

The staff at C & N Cycles are knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and welcoming, and they provide a fantastic ongoing service. Repairs are done quickly and thoroughly, and the bike fit I had with Paul has transformed my cycling for the better. This is a great bike shop.

Called in on spec with a badly damaged wheel thinking I might have to abandon the rest of our day ride. Couldn't have been more helpful - selected a new wheel, said 'go and have a coffee'. Returned and job was completed and we were on our way again. Many thanks
