This is a prime example of a great Bus Station and should be therefore recognised as a nice place to spend your last few minutes in Whitby before boarding your bus to your destination including Scarborough, York and even Leeds! The Sapphire service 4/X4 is one of the most useful services that operates in the Bus Station due to its coverage to Sandsend, Lythe, Ellerby, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Easington, Loftus, Brotton, Saltburn, Marske, Redcar and finally Middlesbrough. The multiple stops all have a purpose and the newly introduced Park & Ride services (P1 and P2) help with the congestion issue of Whitby. On the subject of congestion, one complaint that I have with the position of this Bus Station is the access out of the Station, as you can be waiting on your bus to leave the Station for up to 2 minutes. Overall with the added benefit of the Railway Station this is a prime example of what a small coastal town Bus Station should be.
