Barnstaple’s Bull & Bear is a locally-owned bar and kitchen specialising in our own twist of classic American comfort food, craft beers, sport and much more!

Just like our award winning sister restaurant, Custom House, We take pride in our mouthwatering menu, using only the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients in everything from our delicious burgers and steaks to Devon-grown salad and veg.

Great choice on the menu, nice sized portions, really tasty food and an all-round great place to go for food for all occasions. As an aside, people who leave negative reviews really need to take a long hard look at themselves and their reasons why - crying over the price of coke? Probably the same type of person who doesn't think twice about spending £10 on a packet of cancer sticks.

Stopped in for a beer, food and football while away with work. Looked promising great looking menu. But the first impression did not last. I chose to go for some hot wings to accompany my beer and the football, I ask the barmaid how many wings you get in a small portion (£4.95)she replied 6, so as I was feeling peckish I decided to go for medium (£9.95) I guessed for double the price double the wings right? ...... Wrong 11 wings arrived. I question the barmaid on the amount and price and was told that she did not set the pricing .... when I pointed out that I would have been better off purchasing 2 x small for £9.90 I was told "now you know for next time" .... well there won't be a next time and I hate to think how many you get for £14.95. Some customer service training required.

Love this place! Great venue, delicious menu , awesome cocktails. Toilets are clean and smell surprisingly good. Have good offers during the week. More people need to try this place out!
