The place was just exactly what I expected of it- kind of nice, but not spectacular. We were seated instantly on a dirty table which I wasn't bothered about, because it was a bank holiday, although the restaurant was empty. I saw they offered octopus and chose my drinks and dessert fast, so did my partner. I ordered my drink and main and wanted to order the dessert as well, but the waiter waved at me and said he wouldn't remember it and that desserts are ordered when we finish with the main. I have been in the restaurant field for 15 years now and while I do agree that it could be done this way, if a customer wants to put the order together , you agree. Write it down if you can't remember, it's not a problem. Anyways, the food was served quickly and it was pleasant, but nothing spectacular for the price the meal on the picture is about 18 pounds. After I finished with the main I had to look for someobe to order the dessert and it took awhile, it could be easily avoided if the gentleman who served us would just take the order when I wanted it. Had to use the toilet and I would say it was too dirty even give the fact that it was Bank Holiday the restaurant was half empty. Overall, it's not a place I would consider visiting again. But I must admit what saves the day is the spectacular view.
We had an afternoon tea at Browns' and the food was amazing the teas were bottomless. They managed to put us in a separate room as there were 13 of us. The room was nice and cosy it was exclusively for us! Although, we had to book it in advance to secure a table and to accommodate us.Food: 5/5
The staff is very friendly! Especially Ms Christine!We are from Greece and because she speaks Greek fluently she made us feel like home!Thank you! Spectacular river side view! Excellent customer service!
Yummm! Our first time here and we booked it as a xmas dinner for the family. Food surprisingly good at a very affordable price! Love the xmas drink i got as well : and the waiter was a very friendly and helpful one. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the view of the river as well.Recommended dishesFish and Chips
Hit or miss with the chef shift you get. All our food was swimming in oil. Catch of the day - lemon sole - was missing any lemon flavor. The sirloin steak was well-done instead of medium-rare. We weren’t able to finish our meals because of that, unfortunately. It gets very busy here so booking upfront is recommended. Portions are large.Staff is very friendly and professional. Average wait time for food during busy time is about 30 minutes. Sometimes they have a live pianist playing.
Booked afternoon tea at Browns Kingston upon Thames right by the river for my partner's birthday. Wonderful experience. The restaurant is lush and staff very attentive. Immaculate inside restaurant. The meals I saw coming out to other customers looks fabulous. Definitely going back for a meal.
We visited after being at Kempton Races, the wine and cocktails choices were amazing! The bar staff were very attentive. Would definitely recommend this place for food and drinks
We went to Browns for a birthday dinner. Everything was perfect, from the amazing service by Angel and Sylvia, to the delicious food and cocktails and to the lovely atmosphere. We will definitely come back here
Had a great Sunday lunch here. Food was yummy, lovely ambience as there was a lady playing the piano. My friend felt her beef was over cooked and asked to send it back, there was absolutely no hesitation from the restaurant staff and they swiftly returned with a fresh beef dinner cooked to her liking. We will definitely be returning!
Even though we arrived past the breakfast serving time, the staff was flexible and managed to accommodate us. The food is delicious and the setting amazing, the piano is definitely a plus! This is probably one of the nicest places in Kingston. I would definitely recommend.
