Story

This award winning group opened in Olney back in 1980 and since then has grown the family owned business and now has salons in Buckingham, Market Harborough, Harpenden, Stony Stratford and now in Stamford.

The team have all undertaken the extensive Browns Academy training .
Customers can enjoy the relaxed and professional atmosphere of the each salon.
The beautifully equipped salons offer clients the very best in modern and classic styles with the industries top equipment and best products.
Customer care is paramount to us at Browns, we always ensure that we understand our clients needs and go the extra mile to give them exactly what they want.

Appointments are available at Browns, from 9.00 - 6.00pm Mondays, 9.00am to 9.00pm, Tuesday to Friday and 9.00am to 6.00pm Saturdays and selected salons are open Sunday's 9.30am-5.30pm

I had a wash, cut and finish here with Frankie and am delighted with it. Firstly, there were great offers available on the website for new customers, so the price was good value. The salon is well finished and conveniently open late on weekday evenings. Frankie was friendly and welcoming and did a great job on my hair, it's wearing well even after a few weeks. I was also given a loyalty card with offers for my next visit, so it's safe to say I'll be back!

I've been using Brown's for a few years now and when they rang me a long while ago to say Chloe had moved on, I was a little worried! I needn't have been, Ali has been fantastic. My three annual appointments have increased, I'm trying new colours and trending styles. Even my Mum loves her, she there more thank me!!

My review is on BROWN'S BEAUTY - above the hair saloon, under new/different management. BROWN'S BEAUTY are currently running a promo 50% off offer - but at your peril do you enter into this with the belief that somehow 50% of the cost means 50% of the service and quality. Having just returned from a second negative experience I will not be putting Brown's Beauty on my list of salons to go to - there are lots in Harborough and competition is stiff. My first experience was to have a gelish pedicure and manicure. My appointment time was 16:00 hours (I turned up 5 mins early). I was asked if I would prefer pedicure or manicure first. I opted for pedicure only to be told after 10 mins that there was not enough hot water and I would have to wait for the water to heat up so we'll start with the manicure. This manicure took a record 2 hours and 30 minutes by which time my two hour slot for both treatments had expired. The client coming in after me was turned away as the Therapist finished work at 19:00 hours. I had to forego the full gelish pedicure and received a slap dash coat of varnish instead. It transpired that the Therapist I had been booked in with was not yet fully qualified and because of this the treatment my daughter had booked in with her, could not be carried out. It is also worth mentioning that after 5 days, the 3 hour gelish manicure was now chipping (they should last at least 2 weeks but mine usually last a month). I complained, was assured that Cara wanted to rectify the situation with my nails but couldn't fit me in at any mutually convenient time over the following 2 weeks, so was told I would receive a phone call from the bookings office (guess what - no phone call) - hence I went elsewhere within a couple of days!!!! My second visit was a recommended treatment of a full body massage with mini facial. This didn't start well as I received a phone call 3 days before the booked treatment to notify me of a change in Therapist - alarm bells should be ringing by now. But wanting to remain positive and in support of a new Business, I kept my appointment. Again I turned up early (16:20 for a 16:30 appointment) only to be kept waiting until 16:45 with no explanation as to why!!!!!!!! (The way Salons operate is that if the Client turns up 15 mins late - the appointment is cancelled and charges incurred). When I asked the Receptionists on Hair what was happening I was assured that the over run would not be taken off of my treatment time. Well you guessed it - the hour and 30 minute treatment was cut to 1 hour and 10 minutes because the Therapist's finishing time was 18:00 hours!!!!!!!! And it gets better - during the treatment whilst lying half naked on the massage couch, someone came into the room, sounded like they were dragging some equipment in and out whilst the Therapist and said person were communicating in whispers over my half naked body - lovely, how professional. Prior to this I had positive feedback on Cara as a Therapist - but Cara this is no way to treat customers and the whole Salon seems to be in complete and utter chaos. Cara had said that she would do a complimentary pedicure and manicure for me (after the first bad experience) and I have one booked in with her two days before I go to Ascot. I think I'd have to be the definition of insane to risk it all going wrong two days before such a momentous occasion............. Tomorrow morning I shall be straight on the phone booking elsewhere because even at half price or free it's not worth the gamble if you have something important that you want to look your best for. So to anyone reading this - you might decide it's worth the risk of paying for a half price treatment but don't say you haven't been warned!!!!!!!!
