This is one of the best Indian takeaways I have had. I tend to prefer to go to a restaurant for Indian cuisine, but British Raj provides excellent food, at very good prices, so it's the first choice in Kendal. The front of house counter and kitchen shows a well maintained and clean environment. The counter assistant is friendly and patient, even at very busy times.

Been a family favourite for 21 years. We come most Sundays and the food is always divine. Enormous, succulent King Prawns, scrumptiously soft naan breads, delectable sauces and wonderful service. I never found a place in Edinburgh or London that could compare.

Did not rate this place, ordered a takeout last night and one of the butter chicken's was a very strange texture and didn't taste the best. however on waking up this morning I now have food poisoning. Not one of the best Indians i've had.
