British gas customer service is very bad. it is impossible to contact them. I have been overcharged for my energy by several hundred pound and am unable to contact them in any way. during the winter my boiler thermostat was not working. At that time I was again unable to make contact and had to sort it myself which took several days and Google. I am a lady of 79 years. THINK I WILL BE SWITCHING
I'm extremely appalled! I have found out today, when I was trying to top up my gas meter with my supplier, that I have been switched to British Gas. I did not ever contact them ,give them my details or request it.They have obtained and used my personal data without my knowledge what I believe is illegal. When I was trying to complain,they hung up on me. So I share my experience here, so everyone is aware of they practices.
Took a care plan out with British gas in November 2020.which included a free boiler service. Booked service earliest was January 2021.Day before service due it was cancelled.earliest rebooking was April 21st 2021 .21st April waited in for British gas to arrive .half way through the day get phone call to cancel appointment. Now got to wait till 15th June 2021.Customer Service no help .supposed to ring back within 24 hours still waiting .
No gas for a week spent 6 hours on the phone this week. An still can't fix the problem. My kids will be brought up knowing never to go with British gas.
I would give no stars if I could trying to live chat because after closing my partner's account they keep sending messages saying send in your readings my partner has passed away 2 weeks ago I don't need the hassle nobody comes on live chat they keep leaving it waste of time
Switched from Robin Hood to this and now its charging me even though I payed and its charging well over 300 and won't return my calls.
How a company this size cannot provide a phone contact with a person is unbelievable
Believe me it should be - stars Absolutely shocking service
