They underestimated the time required, ignoring my advice that the job would take longer than they proposed. They had to bring in an extrav man late in the day and even then failed to complete the job as agreed, leaving me (a single, periodically disabled woman) with a large number of heavy boxes to move on my own.As I unpacked, I also found several heirlooms had been broken. After viewing my initial feedback on these matters, a Britannia Lanes representative publicly apologised and offered to send someone round to help sort the situation out. No time limit was provided on this offer, which I understood to be a kind of compensation for the mess that was left. At the time I wasn't well enough to take up this kind offer, so when I did eventually get back to them to take it up with some other stuff I have to move, I was passed from pillar to post on the phone then finally a Vicky Rogers announced that 'too much time has gone past' and the offer no longer stood. Pretty shameful customer service, in the end. Would not recommend.

Lanes recently moved us from Cornwall to East Anglia and I cannot praise them enough. Their office staff were so helpful and patient with us and the removals men were brilliant, working tirelessly despite the heat, never complaining and always professional. To top it off Lanes price was most competitive so we really happy with all areas of their service.

We were very pleased with the service provided by Britannia Lanes of Cornwall. We moved twice with them - once into their storage facilities and then again into our new house. Everyone we met was extremely professional - from the surveyor to the office staff and the two teams of men that did the removals. We had confidence from the very start that they would look after our possessions and that proved to be the case. The price was very clearly set out and we thought that it offered good value for money. We needed to change the date of the move into our new house at very short notice and they were very accommodating. On the day of the second move the weather was awful and the removal team took great care with our stuff and took extra precautions to keep our brand new carpets that way. They worked very efficiently throughout - quickly enough to get the job done in a timely manner and yet with sufficient care to make sure that nothing got damaged. Nothing was too much trouble for the removals team and they "were happy" to move heavy items around as we changed our minds about the layouts of the rooms. I have recommended them to two colleagues who were both delighted and would most definitely use them again.

A terrible company. Wanted furniture moved from Belfast to Cornwall. Final bill was 3 times the verbal quote. Collection arrangements fell through three times - I wasn't even notified. Staff didn't seem interested. Did get a £50 refund but the bill was nearly £900.00. It was very much take it or leave it - you need us more than we need you. Will never use them again and definitely wouldn't recommend them.
