First time in here and David the owner made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing. Great fish and chips. Had beans onion rings with a lovely cup of tea. David came to our table and made conversation and made sure we were happy with everything. Staff couldn't done any better.. 5 stars. If we are in Portsmouth again will definitely go back here.
Nice clean inside dining area with table service. Fish freshly fried and cooked well. Nice fillet of haddock in particular. Bit more seasoning in the batter maybe Nice chips and good 'proper' mushy peas Service good and price fair A good chippy
Best fish and chips I've ever had! Haddock was fried perfectly to keep the juice, batter was crispy with just the right thickness to give a perfect balance with the fish. Freshly fried when you order and the batter won't become soggy even for your last bite. Remarkable!! Will definitely come back when I travel to Portsmouth again.
What lovely staff! Popped in when my additional needs child was having a meltdown and staff were able to assist by helping serve us so quickly and being so considerate. They had food ready to go in less than a minute and I can't be more thankful ! Really glad we have discovered this little gem and will definitely be coming back in for more than just a quick flying visit next time we are in the area. I have never enjoyed such treat from a fish and chip shop - and it happened in Portsmouth! The owners were very kind to accept my order 2 minutes before they closed, as I was thirsty for some saveloy and battered sausages. Crispy batter is absolutely gorgeous!Recommended dishesGravy, Chips
Everything was undercooked and greasy, chips were hard and brown from being cooked in bad oil same as cod, batter was still soggy, terrible place would not recommend
Ordered a portion of cod and chips, very poor quality, the batter on the cod more or less disintegarated, the chips had obviously been refried several times, if i had eaten in I would have refused to have paid. Cash onlky tooFood: 1/5

I was sceptical before going in since I haven't had the most pleasant experience in the UK with Fish and Chips. However, on getting a recommendation from the staff, I tried the Haddock Fish and Chips and was surprised at the medley of flavours. With the quantity of chips and mashed peas that comes alongwith besides the soft texture and the quality of the fresh fish, this place is a must try for tourists seeking out this famous UK dish and for locals wishing to relish it once again.
