At Brewers Fayre we've thought of everything. Great value, great food, great family friendly atmosphere; we've got the lot. Our menu is packed full of family favourites all freshly prepared by our trained Chefs. With our distinctive wooden exterior, the Rising Sun in Watford is close to the landmark Grand Union Canal, Cassiobury Park, Watford Colosseum & the Watford Palace Theatre, & has excellent travel links into London on the Train & Tube. Customer service was rubbish. It was sat night and the place was busy and there was only one person on the bar. Once we managed to order our both my wife and I orders were wrong by the time our correct meals arrived our kids had finished theirs and mine still came out wrong. We were not the only people complaining as the double burgers they sold was only coming out with one burger as they had run out of the correct burgers and rather than being honest they were just sending out a smaller burger. All the staff customer service as appalling apart from on shining light of a lady that was amazing if it had not been for her the place would have fallen apart

Booking the reservation online was straight forward. When we arrived we were greeted and seated very quickly. Food served was lovely as always, and the staff were pleasant courteous throughout

Went there last night for Festive Menu. What a joke. Food was from carvery which was dried up and uncooked. Have had stomach pains all night from uncooked sprouts which were not fresh but obviously frozen. Lack of staff. We asked for fresh food to be put out and were told five minutes which turned into twenty then they ran out of food. No more roast potatoes. The trifle was like mush. The only thing which was edible was the kids food which was spaghetti bolognese and the prawn cocktail starters. Don't even deserve one star. Big disappointment.

I asked my family to book here for my 21st Birthday meal we booked online 2 weeks ago picked a day and time and received confirmation of the booking, really excited about the evening table was booked for 12 people, when we arrived we were told that they were unable to accommodate us as they had arranged a staff meeting, they said they had tried to contact us but that was a complete lie as no communication was received either by phone or e.mail we were left stranded with nowhere else to go at that time of night that would accommodate 12 people at such short notice. Thanks to this restaurant my 21st birthday meal was ruined and all they could say was sorry, totally unacceptable so if you are thinking of going there DON'T especially if your thinking of celebrating a special occasion one thing is for sure I will never be 21 again, SHAME ON YOU!!!

A nice place to have a quiet meal with family and friends but it can be a bit hit or miss on availability of standard items off the menu. Last time I went they had actually run out of chips which you would consider a pretty standard safe menu option and then ended up waiting 20 mins for our dessert.
