I had a perfect credit rating and now I Have a CCJ with 2 weeks to pay notice over the Christmas period when they do not answer the phone, they send you through sister companies waiting endless hours on the phone to get through to nobody, truly criminal and should be investigated by the watchdog. All for £1.70 which turned to £300 so they can take me to a small claims court and go debt collection agency when I proved I paid for the parking - I will struggle with interests rates because of these sham fraudsters.
Do not park here!!! I have just recieved two parking tickets from September when it is now nearly February. At the time car park signs clearly stated free parking after 7pm, the Ringo app you pay with didnt even let you pay after 7pm at that time. Ive spoken to excel parking who own the car park, who have admitted they are in the wrong but still say that even though they are in the wrong I still have to appeal my two £100 tickets. I will not be giving them a penny!!
Avoid parking here. Will send you parking charges incorrectly and take 6 months to complete appeal process. No lighting anywhere, machines always broken. Awful car park. Ringo only allows you to pay up until 7pm however if you stay there after that to me they will send you a parking charge. New signs don't state 7am till 7pm like old ones.
Parked at 19:50 on a Tuesday. Signs at carpark and on RingGo app clearly state that the restricted times are from 7am to 7pm. The Ringo app will only let you pay up to 7pm anyway. Received a £100 parking fine generated by cameras. Will appeal but shouldn't even have to in the first place.
Never using this car park again. Recieved a parking fine even though I had bought a ticket until 7pm. Left it stuck to my window but came back to a parking fine because it had fallen of the window as was a very hot day. Obviously the tickets issued from their own machines cannot cope with a bit of sunshine. Even after proving I had a valid ticket I still had to pay. On principle I will never use this car park again and will gladly pay more to another car park. They won't be getting anymore revenue from me. Disgusting treatment of honest people.
I recieved a penalty notice 4 months after the claimed offence. The signage on site stated the controlled parking times were 07:00 - 19:00 but the notice stated I was parked between 20:00 and 21:00. The notice was recieved 2 weeks after the issue date meaning there was no chance of paying the reduced amount. Currently appealing the penalty.
Joined the local gym. Looked online in advance for parking, I was advised that a "pay and display car park" was upstairs. This means to me that you pay and are presented with a ticket to put in your car. I came to the gym with no phone, just some change for the machine. I arrive to find no machines there. It was dark so I could barely see the signs - even if I wanted to try and phone but I didn't bring it. I left shortly after and received a ticket. They refuse to accept their wording is misleading. I will use another car park....
Ticket machines have been broken for months. They fine you anyway, and reject your appeals. There's no lighting, so you can't see any signs. Discraceful 0/5.
Absolutely vile car park. They will fine you even if you park outside the chargeable times! The appeals are never successful. Please don't give them the satisfaction of making money out of you!
Terrible car park, the worst I've ever used,it is a phone only carpark, and it says you've only got five mins to leave the carpark if you change your mind, but it takes longer than 5 mins to read the instructions.The lift doesn't work, the stairs smell of urine and are filthy dirty,.All in,this is not a good welcome to Hitchin avoid!
