I visited here for Sunday lunch with my friend Craig and a few others, on their recommendation. The food is delicious with excellent service and the staff are very welcoming. I had the lamb dinner with a sticky toffee pudding to follow - highly recommend. Ample seating and great atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Cafe by day, restaurant by night, the bookshop is such a vibrant and lively place, with loads of personality and character. The staff matched the tone, being very helpful and took good care of us! The menu was diverse and interesting, veering away from just avo and eggs, although the food, in only mine and not my partners opinion, was just slightly under par from my expectations of such a popular and highly-rated place. The smoothies and drinks were perfect that being said, with a good variety of specials too. We had a blast, and will come back next time we’re in Hereford no doubt!
Only had breakfast here twice but ......wow! Great food and drink selection. Fab building and decor. Friendly staff. Delicious! Highly recommended!
This is a must visit for Hereford. Really good and interesting location. Very big and 3 or 4 different areas and concepts brunch, cafe, pizza and burgers i saw. Had a very good brunch there with friends. Has a really big outside area Vegetarian options: Brunch menu has a good range of vegetarian options
Had a lovely evening meal, most worthy. In particular the carrots, chips, monkfish and the dessert. Starters could've been better, but that's a minor issue.
Our first time in Hereford meant we had no idea of local restaurants and so went with the one recommendation we had...The Bookshop. And we are so pleased we did. Without booking we were seated immediately and the staff were very attentive, even though there was a large party in. The waiting staff were friendly and very helpful answering our questions and talking about the food enthusiastically. The food is fabulous. Our three courses were delightful and have left us feeling full. Great to see an independent restaurant supporting independent businesses! Highly recommended!
Excellent modern steak-led restaurant. Fitting for the area the steaks we had, both rumps, were truly excellent. Highly recommended. There was also local beer on tap and a good wine list.
I have been a regular eater at Worcester burger shop for years now. My experience there has always been first class. So I thought it time to give the bookshop a try, especially considering the menu is obviously more varied than what the burger shop serves. The venue is very high quality, the food is extremely good, well presented and tastes amazing, and simply doesn't warrant some of the unfavourable reviews I have read. This isn't your local harvester restaurant this is a high quality operation with great friendly staff. The prices reflect the high quality of products they serve here and I would argue I have been to lesser restaurants that produce food of a lesser quality than what they do here and I've paid far more than what the bookshop charge for their food. Simply put you get real value for your money here in terms of a great venue, amazing food, excellent service. The managements passion for what they offer here is clearly obvious. I would very much go to the bookshop again!
Went in without booking, managed to get a small table. Heard only good things about this place but unfortunately raw chicken being served for my starter. Sent back to chef but no care in the world, no apology or free drink offer instead he told poor waitress to tell me that chicken wasn’t raw. Well it was, I’m a chef myself and I KNOW when chicken is raw and you don’t serve it or eat it as can be poisoning for humans. Burger was correct but not hot enough. Would like to be back but didn’t feel like anyone cares if I do or don’t. One star for the wine and one for a deco. Regards
Beautiful setting, cocktails are well made and there is a lovely selection. The food is incredible- chateaubriand was amazing. The service was laid back but their attention to detail was unmatched. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back!
