Ok pub, has quite a variety of beers on tap and bottled . Great variety of wines as well. No opens space though or Windows so just ideal for winter or rainy days.
only had 'one' fish for fish and chips when we arrived for lunch... waiter did not know the soup of the day...long wait time
Great location and doesn't get too busy! Wonderful staff and one waiter kindly made a drink especially for us to suit our tastes. Perfect to sit with a few friends over a bottle of wine :
Hard to reconcile our experience with the two earlier reviews. It was clean and the staff were pleasant although I did not particularly demand anything of them. We had a private function in one of the side rooms and the buffet they provided was very tasty - several of the dishes sun dried tomato salsa and french fried sweet potato were better than I can do myself and I fancy that I can do that sort of thing well.
The Bottlescrue is a fantastic venue situated in a picturesque setting, conveniently 2 minutes walk from St Paul's Tube Station. The bar is divided into multiple spaces, allowing the capacity for an immersive and cosmopolitan nightlife experience, with a separate breakout space available for hires and private parties too - daytime conferences and workshops too, I imagine. They do an excellent menu, plus a special vegan/vegetarian menu if required. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure that our event ran as smoothly as possible and were totally accommodating to our needs, even organising us our own private waiter on the night. Couldn't recommend this venue enough!
Used to be a Davys bar could still be? Great lounge space, sitting and spacious area. Good selection of wine. Good place in the city by St. Paul's tube! Not done food so cannot comment..
This is a very smart establishment, by Davy's standards. By that I mean there's no sawdust on the floor here. It's all very clean lined and minimalist. It looks like quite a bit of money has been spent on the interior. Sadly the food was a let down. Bangers and mash is not hard to get right and for a gastropub should be second nature. An over cooked single sausage, twirled into a circular shape reminiscent of those things found in public parks that you don't want to step in , sitting on a mound of unseasoned mash itself drowning not in gravy but what appeared to be some form of stock - and lots of it. Would I go back? Yes for the stylish decor but not for the food. Perhaps I was just unlucky on my visit. But at these prices you have to be able to get staple dishes spot on, every time.
Great environment. Very open space. Hosts Salsa dancing lessons on Saturday nights and is well set up. Also check out some of the reading.
Excellent place for salsa lessons. I go twice a month and I have never been disappointed . Bartender could serve drinks quicker but apart from that all good enough .
Good, diverse menu and well cooked food. I had the crabcakes to start followed by sirloin steak with salad - both vernice. The ambience is good and I would recommend for business lunches which mine was
