Lovely place, tasty food. We were not expecting live music but it was a nice addition. Service great as well - we did not have a reservation, but they still found us a table as soon as one freed up!
This place is a rare gem - it's an authentic family-run restaurant that's been a local institution since 1965. What other restaurants in London, much less Knightsbridge, can you say that about? It's run by the owner who is friendly, funny, and highly knowledgeable about the food don't let his dry demeanor fool you; this is a Russian restaurant after all. You'll frequently see him laughing & chatting with regular patrons & neighbours out on the terrace. The décor is grand old world, deep red velvet; it feels like a movie set. Perfect for a date. But don't be fooled by the relaxed vibe - the food is exceptional. Very well-priced and well-portioned, authentic Russian and Ukrainian dishes. I sometimes think some of the negative reviewers here haven't ever eaten out in Chelsea/Knightsbridge - this place is excellent value given the quality & location, and restaurants charging service charges is perfectly normal. Sauerkraut and everything pickled are hand-made on-site and are delicious. The potato and mushroom dumplings are my favourite, as are the Napoleon and honey cakes both pictured - but I struggle to choose as all the desserts are insanely good. I've been at least a dozen times and always have a good time. Especially when fellow patrons start chatting with other tables after they've had a few vodkas from the extensive vodka menu. Cannot recommend this place enough. Vegetarian options: There is a wide variety of high-quality vegetarian options on the menu.
Absolutely delicious food!! Must try the infused vodkas. Hands down amazing ... Food is authentic ... Their in house made vodkas are the best... great upper class crowd and friendly staff... The decor is great .... My favorite Russian place hands down .
Authentic Russian cuisine. The bortsch was incredible, the pelmenis and Olivier salad were very good as well. Attentive service. It’s better to book, because it can get very busy!
Fantastic atmosphere, service and food. Bogdan was very knowledgeable about the food and wine menu and made excellent suggestions including some absolutely beautiful Armenian wine, Piroski, Manti and honey cake. The horseradish vodka is definitely worth a try! And there’s live music thrown in too! Thank you for a delicious and fun evening.
A Fantastic little place. It's got a very romantic setting inside the restaurant area. There is live music at just the right volume to create an atmosphere. The lighting is perfect too because I'm on the sauce almost every night and the last thing you need is an interrogatingly bright light to reveal your racketey lifestyle to a date you have with you bags under the eyes and so on... . The beef stroganoff is excellent and also the stuffed cabbage main. Criticisms: they've gone with the British two taps in the toilet but in fairness the hot tap was not excruciatingly hot as is often the case in this green and pleasant land... I shall be returning soon, probably with my mum - if that's not an endorsement then what is?... A very nice wine selection also. Well deserving of 5 stars.

Excellent food, excellent music, great cultural references all over the menu ! Loved it, I highly recommend thid restaurant. The atmosphere is a highlight, it truly is exceptional !!Food: 5/5
Cozy atmosphere, warm and helpful service, and absolutely delicious homemade dishes. As a Russian, I would definitely recommend and I will come back! The prices are very reasonable, given the quality and the location - two of us had 3 dishes each, a beer and two baskets of bread for around £80. Also, Saturday night's live music was very pleasant and not too loud, conversations could still flow easily!
