Booths is my favourite supermarket in Chorley, and I like to make a trip specially to visit here due to their excellent produce. Often dubbed a “Northern Waitrose” with an emphasis on quality, and I’d go along with that.nnThe store is a decent size with a nice selection, including fresh kiosks for fish, meat and cheese. The store is tidy and easy to navigate, making it easy to find what I’m looking for. I also like the separate alcohol area with a good selection of quality spirits, better than the boring, generic selection you’d find in the average supermarket.nnThe prices are on the higher side here, which is especially noticeable for branded items, so I do mainly visit to purchase their own-brand goods.nnI do find the staff to be friendly, although the service can be slow, the checkouts look like something out of the 1990’s, and there are no self-service tills. They do try to speed things up, by allowing customers with a few items to go to the tobacco and newspaper kiosk to pay for groceries, but I do think bringing the store into the 21st-century with more up-to-date tills, including some self-service ones would make things even better.nnDespite issues with the speed of checking out, this is a great supermarket, and it makes me wish Booths had more locations closer to my home in Manchester.
Booths has an excellent fresh meat butchers counter and a fresh fish counter,wonderful local veg including my favourite Lancashire tomatoes. Real people on the tills, friendly , professional, truly lovely store.
Booths supermarkets are in a league of their own for all the right reasons.nAttractive aisles, fresh produce, no wilting flowers!!nIt's quite rare for us to be able to shop at Booths just because there isn't a local Booths to where we live.nHowever it's always a treat to visit and shop at Booths when we come across onenWe visited Chorley today, it's traditional yet modern, pleasant and full of personable staff who just can't do enough for you. There is always a gorgeous homely smell when shopping too.nA highly recommended shopping experience
I give up with this place. Every time I come in I feel ripped offnnNo self checkout, there's no screen to see what's happening. Just a magic number I have to pay... And then after I can check a receipt...nnNot worth it
Booths is an upscale supermarket! They will carry the fancy Dijon your dad loves, they have Green and Blacks dark hot chocolate. The meat, fish and deli sections are brilliant serving all kinds of delicious delights. My favorite is a chicken pie! Staff is always helpful. Do go in and have a wander around.
