Visiting some friends on their narrow boat, we decided to visit Booths.. very wisely! The store is situated on a former Naval flying station, and the design is reminiscent of an aircraft hangar. There is plentiful carparking available. Entering the store is such a pleasure, everything is clean and fresh with a huge variety of stock to investigate! There is a slant towards locally produced food and drink...the first thing I found was a barrow load of local potatoes that had been dug this morning. There is a lovely bakery and fish counter, and the air was heavy with the scent of curry spices...there is a Rafi curry outlet within the store...well worth a visit. In addition to the store there is a cafe attached, which served really good coffee and some lovely sandwiches and cakes. Oh and my doggie, Jasper was made welcome on the tables outside when I had lunch Overall Booths is a fantastic store and if I'm ever back this way again, will be a definate visit.
Popped in to check the store out whilst commuting. Store very nicely laid out, with a great selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and meats. Also a very interesting beer and wines section. Had time to stop for a coffee and bit to eat in the cafeteria, which was very pleasant. Staff very engaging, helpful and polite. Only one drawback here though there was a longer wait than you would expect for hot drinks. As a suggestion may well be worth investigating in another coffee making station to enable a quicker service. Overall it's a far better store than its counterpart in Carnforth
The cafe here is great, cheaper than most and the food is very tasty. Was surprised at how much the coffee and cake was as its rip off central everywhere, but this was ok. As for the supermarket, it has a good choice but just out of my reach to actually shop there. All staff were very helpful and friendly. If I ever get a pay rise I might go mad and buy something one day.
I love all Booths stores, but this one has the edge because I can enjoy a great cup of coffee after I've done my shopping. The fresh products are always first class. The staff are helpful and friendly.
Love a little Booths trip. The different counters for cheese and butchery have great deals.Always pick up something nice. Lovely fresh food. The restaurant is nice, a little chaotic at busy times with lack of seating and dirty tables.
Absolute shambles. We prepaid for an order for collection Christmas Eve. After the 45 minute drive up to the store we are told our item is out of stock and we are offered a replacement’. The member of staff simply said ‘oh sorry we should have called you’. You think?!?! If it had been myself rather than my step father collecting I would not have accepted the measly replacement. It is not like for like at all. You have tainted our Christmas lunch and unfortunately this is not the only time this Christmas this has happened, friends of mine had their turkey order changed to a smaller one THEN we’re kept waiting two hours the evening of 23rd for a timed collection. Get it together Booths. Absolutely horrendous service. No organisation whatsoever.
Always has a great selection of "posh food" and beers. Has a hot counter that does takeout baps and meal deals. However the cafe is absolutely terrible and basically only does toasted food products like teacakes or toast, no hot food at all.
Fantastic supermarket, slightly expensive but range of products is great compared with the run of the mill stuff at asda, tesco etc. The wine and cheese selection especially is superb. The only reason no 5 stars is due to the fact the olives are help yourself and they have stopped the ones with the sundried tomato.
A Great supermarket. Love the produce and the staff. It has a very nice cafe too.
Brilliant selection of quality products and worth paying that little extra for quality. Only three stars as the car park/entrance and exit is absolute chaos, if you buy ice cream it will melt before you get of the very badly designed entry/exit. Has totally put me off from visiting again Such a shame
