This is a local gem that is perhaps my most favorite place in Edinburgh. It's so cute and atmospheric inside, the sushi is great, and it's very affordable! The staff is always really friendly too  Can't wait for COVID to be over, so I can visit Bonsai again.

Our first visit to a Japanese restaurant. Could not fault this place! The service was amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. Took us through the options and explained the differences. The food was out of this world! We’re not local, but will make the effort to go again. Highly recommended.

It’s a small place with very friendly staff, the food was made quickly and the beef was really amazing but sushi were average - might be better. The bistro was almost empty. Also in the toilet smelled weird. As plus the prices were not expensive.

Best restaurant and staff in city! Try the takoyaki, they are amazing!
