We have eaten at Kanpai numerous times over the years and it has been consistently good. I really enjoy the food and the service is quiet and discreet. Apologies for the photographs... I was more interested in eating! Soft-shell crab a must to try... Disappeared before camera got a chance..
Their food is amazing! Not only tasty and fresh, but also well presented. Their gyoza is the best I've ever had, very clean and delicious. However the food is quite expensive and the portion is very small.
The waitress lady was really lovely. The freshness of the fish is amazing! You could smell the sea in it! Wonderful service and food quality. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return

Best sushi place in Edinburgh - we've been there several times with friends and family. The food is always tasty and the fish is really fresh ! The service is great and attentive. Cocktails are good as well.

This is an unassuming restaurant that you would easily walk past if you weren't looking for it. We went here on a Monday night. From the outside, it looked like a hole in the wall, always a good sign.
