Just had a takeaway from here safe to say worst experience I’ve had at an Indian takeaway. Ordered online for collection got an email saying it would be ready at 6.20. Was actually ready 30 minutes before this rushed down and home by that time the food was lukewarm chicken hard and sauce gloopy and unappealing. Popadoms came in clutch.Food: 2/5
Really impressed by the quality, obviously talented chefs, all basics and fundimentals executed perfectly with great flavours, always impressed with every dish we've sampled. Beaminster is lucky to have this on their doorstep. 10/10
We chose not to eat here because its a cash only business and our suspicion would be that this is to avoid tax. I'm sure the food would have been nice though judging by other reviews.
We visited for the first time after quite a while. It was a Thursday evening with a £14.95 banquet offer. The curries and sides were good and quite varied in flavours and textures. All were well prepared and tasty. I particularly like their Rezala. Generous portions! The waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food took a while to come, but we'll cooked food is worth the wait. They don't have an alcohol licence, so you are welcome to take your own drinks with no corkage charge.
Who doesn’t like camping and curry? Staying nearby we popped in for a take out. Staff absolutely polite and helpful. Range of curries covers the standards as well as having a few bespoke chefs specials. It was ok, I didn’t have to cook it and we’re in the middle of no where! Would I go out of my way to visit again? Probably not, but if you’ve got that curry itch you need to scratch, these fellas will sort you out. Please note it’s CASH ONLY which was a bit of a surprise, but the co-op in the square does cash back so you’re probably okay. If you dine in, it’s BYOB so if Johnson is passing, he’ll be okay.
We had a take away from here last night whilst dropping my father in law back home in mosterton. Some friends of his had mentioned that they'd eaten in a couple of weeks ago and were very impressed. We definitely were not disappointed. A very varied range of curries are offered including some very unusual ones. We were given poppadoms with a lovely mango type sauce - not the usual mango chutney - which was very nice. We had a chicken passanda and a duck curry dish. Both were absolutely lovely, really tasty thick sauces with perfect texture, spiced accordingly and very tender, good quality meat which is a must for us in a curry. Very well cooked rice and lovely naan bread, not at all greasy or over doughy. The staff were very friendly and helpful over the phone and when we collected our meal. We will most definitely be coming to eat in when we are in Dorset again some time very soon.
Really nice food!! Always try a different dish and it's always nice. Friendly staff.Food: 5/5
Four friends meet for meal. Warm welcome clean kitchen in open view. Nice menu choices a is exactly what it says. Pompodoms standard Chipati a bit tough nans a delight. All things considered worth a visit take your drinks soft or alcoholic. They are cash not even a simple SUMUP. My sum up a good venue to add to your list. Five stars based on staff menu choices
Tried to order a simple take away at 1930 on Saturday night . Would have taken 20 seconds to place order , chicken tikka masala and rice . Was told to hold on , waited for 10 minutes listening to the noises of the restaurant and the waiters / chefs . Nobody returned to me, hung up unimpressed . Why offer take away if you’re not geared up for it ?
This was our first takeaway since it was closed. We have been using the Crewkene Indian for about 3/4 months. So we were looking forward to using our local. We orderd exactly the same take away as Crewkerne. It was nearly £10 more. Could'nt fault the food but that is a huge price difference. Back to the Begal Raj for us.
