BODHISATTVA KADAMPA MEDITATION CENTRE is dedicated to the attainment of world peace by offering everyone the opportunity to develop lasting mental peace through meditation and related practices.
BODHISATTVA KADAMPA BUDDHIST MEDITATION CENTRE, based in Brighton, East Sussex, is a special place of tranquility, rest, reflection and friendship. It is home to an international Kadampa Buddhist community of 30 lay and ordained residents who share a similar wish to make their lives meaningful by finding lasting peace and happiness from within and helping others to do the same.
THE BUDDHIST CENTRE IS OPEN to the public and offers a variety of Buddhist meditation classes, day courses, and weekend meditation retreats that are suitable for everyone - both beginners and more experienced meditators. For those attending our weekend courses we also offer comfortable single, twin, and dormitory accommodation with recently upgraded facilities.
WE OFFER INTRODUCTORY MEDITATION CLASSES and courses in Brighton, Sussex and the South East. Our beginners classes include guided meditations, a short practical talk about how to use meditation to solve daily problems, and an opportunity to ask questions and discuss over light refreshments.
OUR MEDITATION COURSES and classes are open to everyone, whatever level of interest or experience, and give people the opportunity to learn more about meditation, Buddhism, and finding peace & happiness from within.
THE CENTRE IS LOCATED within two acres of quiet leafy grounds and is a haven of peace in the city of Brighton. We are just a few minutes walk from local parks and the sea front and a ten minute drive from the South Downs National Park – an area of protected countryside and natural beauty. There is something here for everyone so come and visit!
OUR WORLD PEACE CAFE is open from Tuesday to Saturday (11am-5pm) where people can relax, meet with friends and taste delicious homemade cakes in a peaceful setting. During café hours our two large meditation rooms are available for the public to use for quiet contemplation and meditation.
