Story

A warm welcome to the Blue Parrot Cantina, serving traditional Mexican food and classic cocktails since 1993.

Situated in Edinburgh New Town’s Stockbridge district, you will find us in a cosy, rustic basement half way along St Stephen Street.

With an open kitchen and outside toilets, our cantina is often described as “quirky”, our delicious authentic foods as “just as good, if not better than in Mexico” and our classic Margaritas delighting so many of our customers to declare them “the best in Edinburgh / Europe / Ever”.

We offer a range of freshly prepared meats, fish and vegetarian starters and main courses, with the emphasis on healthiness and flavour rather than heat.

All of our dishes are home made and cooked to order, so it is possible that they can be tweaked to individual requirements ie. free of gluten, nuts, dairy, heat, etc. Just mention it to the waiting staff.

Our classic Margaritas really are second to none. We also offer a range of bottled Mexican & European beers, world wines, cocktails, spirits and liqueurs including an agave liqueur that must be tried.
