Blue Door Bistro
"The Blue Door Bistro provides a welcoming and informal bistro-style setting, with a superb à la Carte menu to match. Light and airy at lunchtime, warm and cosy by evening, the room is decorated on three sides with a panoramic view of London circa 1849.Together with the rich mahogany panelled walls, effective use of mirrored glass, and contemporary wrought iron wall lights, an ambience rooted in the hotel's location is beautifully achieved.Dine with us and you can enjoy a Table d'Hote/Pre-theatre menu for £25 per person for two courses, or £30 for three."

Visited for dinner; the ambiance is satisfactory and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the chicken noodle soup lacked flavor and was watery. I wonder if It was flavoured with a single crumb of OXO cube. It lacked seasoning entirely. The "mini chicken pie" disappointed. The leak and potato soup were passable. The beef burger was okay but not on par with popular chain burger places like Honest, GBK, or Byron.
The service was on point. The sun room looks out onto the garden and is very pleasant with the windows open allowing in the fragrance of flowers Vegetarian options: Risotto
We had an awesome meal here. The hospitality manager did a great job recommending food, as well as drinks to pair with them. You could really tell he loves what he does.Food: 5/5
My friend and I stumbled on the Blue Door Bistro on our way to the theatre district from Russell Square. The staff is charming and professional and the food is so good we have returned twice. Everything is beautifully plated and delicious. Afternoon tea is everything you could wish for.Food: 5/5
Excellent food! Friendly helpful staff, we recommend the limoncello royal! Drinks a bit pricey but well worth a treat! Wonderful evening and a straight forward walk to kings cross for the train home!
We had lunch at this establishment and we had a great experience. The food was superb. We landed here because the restaurant at the the British Museum was booked out and we looked for a restaurant in the neighborhood. The service was very attentive yet discreet. The furnishings and overall environment was exemplary.Food: 4/5
Food was fantastic, service was fantastic. Absolutely kind, friendly, beautiful people. They definitely went out of their way to make sure our experience was perfect. Highly, highly recommend this place. If we are ever back in London, will definitely be eating at this bistro again.
We were staying at the Montague hotel and only decided on the morning of our arrival that we wished to eat in their bistro.Their website showed no availability, but not to be defeated, I rang the hotel reception, mentioned I was staying that night and was it possible to book a table-I was told it was no problem-just what time! We arrived at the restaurant after a hard days sightseeing and were ready for our meal-We had looked on the website that morning and this had shown the summer menu was still in place. We were therefore surprised to be told that their autumn menu was now in place. However, the selection was just as good. My wife had a tiger prawn stroganoff with rice, which looked and tasted delicious. I had their hand chopped steak, which effectively was a Pattie of cooked minced beef or at least it was to my eyes. However, this was also really tasty. The desserts were no less wonderful. The selection of wines was good as was the coffee. The service of the staff was attentive, yet unobtrusive and although the cost was more than we would normally pay, the experience and the quality of the food and the surroundings made it more than worthwhile. Put it this way, we will be eating there again, even if we are not residents!!
Food was boring, bland or plain wrong. Absolutely overpriced for what it is. Just OK for American tourists that don't know any better possibly their biggest market considering the clientele present that night, and the area. I had the duck breast with apricot crust. The cherry tomatoes were unripe and the menu didn't state that English mustard was an ingredient -- I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known that. The staff was friendly enough but that didn't compensate the ghastly food experience we had overall half of the table didn't like their food and I didn't dare to ask the other half as they were American friends visiting London for the first time. I felt a little embarrassed with them but we were misled by the - now inexplicable - high rating shown here.
Came here with my boyfriend pre theatre and went for the a la carte menu. The service was excellent and took into account our deadline for leaving. My starter and main were decent but not overly exciting and I found the rabbit loin on my starter had gone a touch dry. However, the dessert of strawberry meringue was truly phenomenal and, in my opinion, beats those I've had at Michelin starred restaurants. It has gained itself an extra star from me on the basis of that dessert! I was also a fan of their South African red wine from their vineyard.
