Family of 10 went for father's day, 4 ordered the roast beef Yorkshire wrap. When the first wrap arrived my sister cut into it and ate some to find it was smothered inside with horseradish sauce which she doesn't like. The waiter came back over and we asked if that's how it's meant to come as it's not described like that in the menu, he said he would ask the chef. The waiter returned and said the Chef told him that's how it is, he didn't offer any alternative or help and put the other 3 wraps down and walked off. We didn't receive a check back which is probably because he knew we would have complained and about 70% of the wraps were left. The service from the waiter was shocking and we won't be coming to this pub again.
Love this pub, a little bit shabby to be fair, but the food is beautiful and very well priced. Especially in these economic times. Staff are friendly, can't wait to go back.Food: 4/5
Appalling customer service from a few of the staff, food was poor, service time was really bad. They were short staffed and the starters & mains came out in dribs & drabs. Some of our party were almost finished their mains whilst others still hadn’t had starters. Despite being asked several times the staff didn’t get it right & didn’t really care anyway - we left with one of the party still not having a main course as what they eventually bought out was wrong. The chef still thought this was acceptable & actually argued he did an excellent job incorrect order & warm food Do not waste your money !
Had a reservation for 11:30am for Father’s Day. Came in and had to wait 20 minutes just to speak to someone to be seen to a table. When we sat down, the table was sticky and there was a dog in the seating area. Which was barking and sniffing round other tables. Then when we ordered, half the stuff we wanted, wasn’t even available due to the restaurant “not having it in”. When we decided what we wanted, we had to wait 45 minutes to an hour just for a lack luster burger that was COLD and a pie that was also cold, not to mention the gravy that came with the pie looked like chocolate syrup that you put on ice cream. The staff were ignorant and rude, asked for a refund and only got 75% of our money back. DO NOT COME HERE. Not worth the suffering
I want to take this matter further. who do I speak to for being charged for food that he said had been taken off when ordering to getting cold food and getting meals 20 minutes apart. we had people who had finished their meals while others was waiting. It didn't matter how many times got up to ask it just wasn't coming to us. £150+ spent here for 9 people and wish I had gone anywhere else. Was a great pub back in the day no a joke. Tables not clean no staff to greet or show to table just find it yourself when it was reserved so had to look for a piece of paper with our name on. Even when recieved food items was actually missing from it. I would give 0 stars and would not recommend this place I will instead actively tell people to avoid this place. I want this escalated to hungry horse or top managment because what I have witnessed today has literally been criminal.
Always a warm and welcoming atmosphere, staff friendly and service was very fast, main meals were definitely more than you'd expect for the price, was slightly disappointed with the Halloumi fries as batter was quite greasy but all in all enjoyed the meal. A little bit of wear and tear on seats but still plenty of comfortable places to sit, kid friendly with a play area outside. Perfect for families who want a nice meal for a good price!
Further to my review on trip advisor and the response from Geene king. I did speak with the manager who said we would receive a £30 voucher. As we should of been told that it had horseradish sauce on the wrap. On re checking menu it does not state this. If that was the case then surely the roast potatoes should of been wrapped to.
Visited on Friday the 5th danny behind the bar was really friendly and helpful with our children, who have strict dietary requirements, would definitely visit againFood: 5/5
The place definitely needs a big makeover, so drab saw better furniture in charity shops. The staff sort of threw the plate on the table and said before she ran off, cutlery behind you, awful service. The food was terrible, sizzling platter, it looked like it had been sat in the kitchen and forgot about, truly disgusting, defo no sizzle. Don’t waist your time going there.
Me and my mates decided on this pub as an ‘easy option’ but what a wonderful experience it tuned up to be. Massive compliments to the management and staff who made our time well spent. Food was also very good.Food: 5/5
