Bought a Virgin Experience to Brasserie Blanc. The staff were all very welcoming and didn't treat us any differently to the other guests which was great. The set menu is much more restricted compared to the main menu but all the options looked very tempting so I was happy. The food was delicious, well presented, simply but skillfully prepared as is the French way, letting the ingredients sing. It was a Friday night so there was a great vibe in the restaurant. It was my first time there but for sure won't be my last!
Had a great evening at a friend's birthday party get together. Bean soup with mushrooms was very tasty. Xmas dinner was traditional but done R Blanc style; so small cubes of new and roast potatoes, parsnip, sprouts, carrots, bread and cranberry sauce, gravy, nice substantial portion of turkey, just wish it was served a little hotter. Very tasty though. The Berry crumble and ice-cream was tangy, hot and most enjoyable. Wines, were well chosen by the birthday girl. Topped off with coffees - great evening. Service, great. Thank you. Dietary restrictions: Catered well for dietary requirements by adjusting menu for dairy free needs.
Had a delicious 2 course meal. I got the mushroom arancini starter and vegan cauliflower steak for main. The walnut paste was amazing and it was a good portion with sweet potato fries too. Little bit on the pricy side with starters basically costing £10 but it was tasty. Good service and very relaxing atmosphere. Good menu with lots of options including vegan ones and a full gluten free menu.
This beautiful restaurant is in the middle of the city centre, and yet feels hidden away. It is down by the canal, just off Sovereign Street. It has a nice outdoor area although a bit cold this time of year! and the interior is full of exposed brickwork and dark wood. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and unhurried. It lends itself to long conversations over several courses. The noise level was perfect - giving a background ambiance but it was easy to hear my dining companion. The service was excellent. From being welcomed at the door to our waitperson, everyone was attentive, engaging and accommodating. They did forget one of our drinks, but apologised and made it immediately once we reminded them and knocked it off the bill without us asking. The service couldn't have been much better. Unfortunately, the food let the experience down. As we waited, we have 'baguette and butter'. The baguette was cold, tough and a bit stale. The butter so hard it was essentially useless. Little flavour and none of that fresh, crusty yet light taste you expect from real French bread. Our main courses of 'Chicken and wild mushrooms' and 'steak' were 'okay'. The chicken was nothing special, the sauce was over-salted and the mushroom rather sparse. The steak was overcooked request was for medium-rare and, with the exception of one corner, there was no pink to be seen. Overall, we were left feeling let down by very middle of the road food in what was a beautiful venue with excellent service. Not sure if it was a bad night, or not their regular chef so can't comment on if this is an ongoing issue.
My partner and I took my mum here for a birthday treat. We had already looked at the menu before hand and decided what we wanted. On arrival, the restaurant is located on the side of the river and, although it was dark and cold outside, I can imagine it would be lovely to sit outside in the summer and the restaurant had plenty of tables to do so. We ordered aperitif cocktails to start. These were delicious and refreshing. In hindsight, when the waitress asked if we were ready to order, we should have said no to give us more time to enjoy the cocktails. We didn't and ordered our starters and mains straight away. Service was very good and quick. Starters were scallops for me, a sausage and potato salad for my partner and fish soup for my mum. All were delicious and beautifully presented. My only complaint was that I wanted more scallops for the amount of puree. Mains soon followed which consisted of chicken curry and coconut rice for me, lamb for my partner and chicken ballotine for my mum. Again, all fantastic dishes, beautifully presented. My mum had a liquor coffee to follow, with my partner and I sticking to what we were already drinking, wine and whisky and coke. The final bill was £180 which I think is fantastic value for money. We will definitely be going back and would highly recommend
First time eating here for my husband's birthday and we loved it! Great cocktails and mocktails, lovely menu choices and the food was fab. Service was good to say how busy it was and the atmosphere was lovely, there was no rush to order, eat or leave! Highly recommended, reasonably priced for the quality and location. Will definitely go again.
I ate here twice. It’s my favourite French restaurant in Leeds! I recommend the escargot and duck dish However, the steak was a bit chewy so the server offered to remove it from the bill. I appreciated the attentive service and gratitude Wine option is also lovely where outdoor seating is definitely a great option on a sunny day.
Went with my four children for mother's day and it really was an amazing visit. As you can imagine it was very busy on this day and the staff were working hard but maintained a high level of great customer service. All were friendly and helpful throughout our time there. All food was delicious and would definitely recommend the crab and sweet corn bonbons for starters.
Highly recommended! The restaurant is located by the river, pretty centrally but away from all the city centre noise at the same time. Lovely environment and very relaxing atmosphere. Food was great, all the steaks were cooked to perfection and were amazing actually much better than steak restaurants!. Solid wine list and good selection of both reds and whites.
Excellent relaxed atmosphere. The staff were superb. Above all though the food was amazing. The cheese souffle - melt in the mouth heaven. Beouf bourguignon just fell apart and Malabar fish curry was amazing. Good choice of wine and Gin! One very small criticism is a charge of £3.60 for a small basket of almost stale baguette slices. Vegetarian options: Good choice
