Avoid this joke of a golf course at all costs. 20 years ago this was a decent public course. Now it’s little more than a ploughed field. And that’s being unkind to some fields. If you like hitting a perfect tee shot and the ball disappearing into the bog of a fairway then this is your place. Otherwise head to pitch and putt at Anchorsholme to get better value for money.

Lovely atmosphere and outlook. Had my sons christening here. The reason I couldn't give 5 stars, we had hired room got our guests, yet caters insisted on catering for a large party as well, who took some of our seating away. We were told would be finished by 2 but hadn't. Staff were pushed and extremely busy. We enjoyed our day.

Well laid out course with some interesting and challenging holes but sadly the course just isn't well enough maintained. The rough is covered in grass cuttings making it very difficult to find any balls that land even a yard off the fairway. The greens are patchy with dinner plate sized bare patches. A shame that it has gone so far downhill since it was taken over. Maybe the summer will help the greens and at £13 on tee times it is worth a visit, but I'd recommend paying the extra and going to a better maintained course.
