Black Horse Old world charm. Ornate. Grade 2 listed classic heritage pub. Beer & banter. Detailed review: Situated at a stone throw distance from Harris museum and bang opposite the back entrance of St. George's shopping centre, Black horse is a vintage gem among the pubs in Preston. What greets one are the fascinating interiors of mosaic floor, tiled bar with a plethora of options and the walls which are adorned with pictures of old Preston. The front two rooms have basic but comfortable seating setup in an early nineteenth century world feel with the decor, lead bordered thick glass windows and added charm thanks to the real log fires. The music is played via a jukebox and there is no specific genre which adds a good surprise element. The hospitality is courteous and there are always some regulars at any point of time. Limited/no food options but it is surrounded by plenty of fast food joints. This place is ideal for beer and banter as life goes by. Worth a visit.
Wow!! What a fabulous town centre pub! This is how pubs used to be. Amazing interior. 8 hand pumps offer real ales. My favourite was available and was perfectly kept. I will visit again!
Stunning pub with great selection of beers. Might seem a little intimidating being in the city centre, but it's not rough. It's a real melting pot of individuals, with stunning decor. The snugs are cosy, and a perfect place for an afternoon pint and read of a book/newspaper. I imagine that it gets busier after work etc, but a great pub. The interior is worth a visit alone.
Beautiful old interior, friendly staff and great selection of real ales! A gem in the heart of Preston.
Everybody in Preston knows this is the pub with the most atmosphere. The rooms are different and cosy and it's a great place for a beer.
Excellent pub. Not been in for a while but it still retains the character and charm that this historic pub has always had The booths are cosy and homely. Still a good selection of ales and guest drinks
Fantastic old world pub which is steeped in history. Grade 2 listed building. Massive choice of.beers and great service. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful traditional pub serving a great selection of ales, a real gem in preston.
An Absolute Treasure. Totally unspoilt multi roomed pub. Featured in Camoaign for Real Ale's National Inventory. Pubs of historic Interest and unspoilt but looks lost with ultra modern surrounding. Beer from Robinsons of Stockport plus Guest Beers. A must if you visit Preston.
Beautiful old pub. Amazing interior with stained glass, mahogany panelling, and the most incredible moziac tilled floor.
