Birkenhead Market nestles in the centre of the town and offers the very best of both worlds with its spacious modern indoor market hall

Story

Although the traders have retained the essence of a market, a great deal of attention has been paid to the appearance and service being offered, resulting in a constant improvement programme which is clear to see.

There is a balance to the range of traders on offer and new ones are joining us regularly. Thanks to the hundreds of parents and kiddies who visited our fantastic animated Santa`s Grotto in December. Everyone commented on how good it was, so make an entry in your diary to bring your children or grand-children next year, when it will be even better.

Oo dear the market has all but gone .most stall holder have given up .The council has abandoned them ,so sad ! Please support the stall holders still there .
Quite old style building and surrounding. Decent people, cheaper than Liverpool. Good location, and plenty of car parks disabled, too for really cheap hourly rates 50p/hr in the multy storey car park - pyramid. 5 minutes in the tunnel from Liverpool. All the brands here, what you normally need and chains.
Absolutely shamed as a Birkonian to witness the demise of the town & market place. The council need to step aside and allow the stall holders to shape the future. In respect of the town centre, Brighten the place up & get rid of parking restrictions.
Lovely large market, shame that so many shops were empty. I don't know if that is different at the weekend?
Used to be a busy and thriving place but lots of empty stalls now. Still managed to get some good stuff though. Birkenhead and the Wirral area is worth a trip.
Many large retail facilities have suffered so much since the covid pandemic. This has taken a major hit yet thankfully the brave few have tried to weather the storm. Vital areas for our community should be offered more protection to move forward in such a way as to ensure their ability to continue
Birkenhead market used to be lovely x it's such a shame the way it's gone,it doesn't need coming down just a good clean up x bring Birkenhead back to the way it used to be, it's shocking the way Birkenhead has gone right down
An empty husk of a once vibrant market from decades past
There's a handful of stalls left, there used to be at least 90 market stalls and it attracted coach loads of people from different parts of uk when I was younger! It will never be the same! It's a shame and the other shopping areas are being destroyed thanks to whoever owns market and shopping area's!! And our *CRAP COUNCIL*
I remember walking round this market 50 years ago with my mum . On a Saturday it was shoulder to shoulder. You could buy everything from fresh food to endless household goods. I particularly remember the stamp shop opposite the row off endless by butchers stalls So sad to see it so almost empty and run down. A sign of the times I think. Someone needs to come up with an innovative plan to rejuvenate this area
