Birdie's bistro is a popular place for good simple food and drinks. Choices are many and varied. I can heartily recommend the ham, egg and chips. The bubble and squeak is also very well received. Value is not quite what it was when we first came here about 5 years ago but quality remains high with an emphasis on local produce and a meal for 2 with coffee comes in at about £30 but more with excellent cakes and wines. It's also dog friendly and it has an outside garden area and the birds on the foreshore and in the hedge rows are wonderful.

The BBC chicken was really tasty, a good flavour and came with a very tasty slaw, great garlic mayonnaise and chips which unfortunately weren't crispy on the outside, but that's preference. The classic burger was huge but had a relish and a chutney which was too sweet and overpowered the burger rather than compliment it. The setting was cosy and comfortable, although I thought the toilet facilities were a bit grubby and the door to the staff area left open was untidy. Will be back to try the fish which sounded good, but they ran out of it which could mean it's popular.

Two of us went for lunch after a walk on porthkidney beach on Thursday. Food was delicious. People and atmosphere were both lovely, so much so we took two friends for lunch the following day (today the 23rd march) and again the food and all round experience was fab, if you like to eat in a warm relaxed atmosphere here is the place to go. As it says on a board in the room good food is worth waiting for,and believe me it is worth the wait.

Love this place. Always friendly staff and food is lovely. A regular stop for breakfast with the girls 💜💙🧡💚💛❤️
