As pricey as the ticket might be, if you're looking for a HUGE screen and incredible sound experience then do just come! A nice spacious environment, quite easy to get to from Waterloo. Has a coffee shop and bar inside on ground floor with Ben & Gerrys parlour, with ice cream and sweets upstairs. Lots of people choose the middle seats which I get but I have always sat in the side blocks and have never been disappointed. Quite good legroom I'm 6ft 1. Seats are comfortable.
The only 70mm imax in Europe September 2024. Great venue. Confortable seats. Good service. Access is easy. Worth visiting when visiting London . Hopefully with a great movie we have to come back
Wow. I haven't been to any kind of cinema in years. I've always wanted to visit the imax. And at last, a film worth waiting for was showing at the imax. The Joker folie a deux. What a brilliant place to watch this epic film. The pre movie ads for future movies was long and boring and annoying and I could really have done without that. I would have arrived at exact time of the start of movie had I known. We were like trapped victims being forced to watch a bunch of stuff that wasn't part of my expectations. Spoiled the experience somewhat. The seats are amazing. Ultra comfort. Ergonomic, and well designed for human spines as opposed to seats in the past that were designed for triangular robots . I felt so comfy. No aches and pains afterwards. The sound system is loud but not painfully so. Appropriate loudness. The screen is so gigantic I didn't need to wear my prescription glasses . Infact I couldn't wear them as everything was way too close with them . An absolutely fabulous cinematic experience. Except for the far too long pre - movie ads for more movies.
It was my first IMAX experience and I think I picked a good spot. Spotted a signed poster at the bar area from Christopher Nolan which was a great conversation starter. The staff was exceptional and I loved the screen. The sound was slightly quieter but had more clarity than lesser cinemas I've been to. Maybe a coincidence but this was the quietest and nicest bunch of couple hundred people I've encountered in such a setting.
Best cinema experience in London. A 4 Story tall screen, sounds that makes you feel like you are part of the film and great seats with unobstructed views. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
Finally managed to book Dune 2 with a decent seat in late April at BFI. If you wanna each an imax movie. This is the place to be. The tickets are not cheap but once a while a treat is worth it. The whole place is massive. It is easy to get to from Waterloo station. The seats are relative comfortable. The screen is massive. sometimes you can see the bugs on the screen. The sound system is very loud but good, which makes your seat vibrate. I would recommend the seat in the back and middle.
Great screen size and quality. Nice bar downstairs. Staff very friendly. Before the movie starts, the member of staff greets the audience and makes an original speech, related to the movie you’re about to watch. The introduction before Dune part 2 was amazing and the lady who greeted the audience was brilliant. It made my experience so much better and memorable. If I could change/improve something, it would be the spaciousness of the sits, the distance between them, as I felt a bit like a sardine… And also I wouldn’t allow people to eat and drink during the show as it ruins the experience for the others… But I suppose this will never change…
My first visit to the BFI IMAX for the Inside Out preview and Q&A. Great location and amazing screen. Clean toilets and little cafe on the ground floor, kiosks on the first floor before you enter the IMAX screen too. Well organized event, I'll definitely visit again. The only thing which wasn't ideal is that there isn't much leg room. The IMAX wasn't originally built for full length films so it is a little cramped.
IMAX Theatre, Waterloo - An Unforgettable Cinematic Experience. I recently watched "A Quiet Place: Day One" at the IMAX theatre in Waterloo, London, and it was an extraordinary experience. The movie itself was captivating, but what truly elevated the experience was the theatre. The screen was impressively massive, providing a truly immersive viewing experience. The sound system was impeccable, delivering every nuance and detail with perfect clarity. It was, without a doubt, one of the best theatre experiences I have ever had. However, the only downside was the route to the theatre. We had to navigate through a somewhat shady underground tunnel, which was less than ideal. Despite this, the overall experience was exceptional. I highly recommend this IMAX theatre for any movie, especially those shot with IMAX cameras. The combination of the huge screen and phenomenal sound system makes it an unparalleled choice for movie enthusiasts.
One if not the best IMAX experience you can have in Europe. Visual clarity for both 70mm and Laser shows is absolutely perfect. The sound is loud and powerful and the Screen one of the biggest we have here. The 70mm show was very clean, no jitter and no issues at all. 10/10
