A very good insight into what made the town what it was in years gone by. Being an inland port it was of importance to the country, so much so that historically it's Mayor was classed as fourth in line of importance in ceremonies at Westminster Cathedral. It was the birthplace of 3 times Prime Minister Earl Baldwin whose seat was this very town!

Lovely day out. If you can go when the sun's out you can easily spend a day in the lovely gardens with a picnic. The onsite cafe is brilliant. The food is delicious and big portions too.

It's a nice place to go and there's also a cafe, so you can relax with a Cappuccino or some other beverage and something to eat.
