Perfect place for a spot of afternoon tea or just a cuppa and some cake. We only had to queue for around 5 mins and were given menus to look at. We were served quickly and food arrived shortly after. There was a large array of cakes and sweet treats available. The strawberry cheesecake was delicious as was the raspberry macaroon very filling. We were served some very tasty breakfast tea and I ordered an ice coffee which was lovely on the hot day. If you want to do the full afternoon tea I would recommend booking as it gets very busy at times. We can’t wait to come back and try some more.
On a recent visit to Bettys Cafe and Tea Room in Harrogate, I was completely charmed. From the moment I walked in, the warm atmosphere and gentle buzz of conversation made me feel right at home. The staff were lovely and guided my wife and I to a cozy corner overlooking the memorial. We had a cheese scone and a fruit tart to share and for drinks we had a hot chocolate and a latte. The scone was heavenly and the tart was fresh and tasty, it looked almost too good to eat. The whole experience was lovely. This visit tells me why Bettys is such a beloved spot, offering elegance with a touch of nostalgic charm.
I would have given 6 stars and more!! Went at 9am and got a seat straight in. Lovely environment for a quiet breakfast morning. The staff were full of smiles and so positive. Great service at every step of the way. Recommending us this scrambled egg with muffin, smoked salmon and chutneys to go along! I asked for strawberry preserve too and they happily served it! Really enjoyed my morning here with the food and service :nnMany people recommended this place before we came and it definitely didn’t disappoint :
So be prepared to queue!nThat's the only negative I can give regarding sitting in to eat at this fabulous cafe.nIt's quite pricey.nMe and my girlfriend each had one hot drink, a burger and a slice of cake and the bill came to approx £64. But we walked away feeling like it was money very well spent.nThe food is delicious, as we're the drinks, I opted for the hot chocolate and my girlfriend went for the mocha, both were very creamy and tasted amazing. The burger was out of this world, it may have been £20 but it was worth every single penny, I added bacon onto mine as well I mean come on, it's bacon!!. We finished with a cake of the trolley and walked away very happy.nThe food was amazing, the service was equally as good, if not better. Polite, chatty but not overkill, helpful and very knowledgeable in the many many cakes on offer.nTable service is available to bring stuff from the shop, not a bad idea if your belly is full from indulging, but we chose to walk around the shop. We wanted to buy some French fancies these are amazing but sadly on the day we went they had sold out, this resulted in sad faces for a period of time.nBut we would happily come back again and enjoy the dining experience and deliciousness of this wonderful gem.
Very lovely, expensive but I knew this before I went in. £30 afternoon tea for one. Plate of cakes, sandwich, scone, pot of tea. I don't drink tea, so they happily swapped and didn't charge extra for a ginger beer. Food was delicious. Nice to feel like you've enjoyed something luxurious and a little naughty.
