Loved my dress but terrible service and would strongly advise any brides not planning a year in advance to not shop here! My dress arrived the week before my wedding and two days before I left to go to my wedding location. They put my wedding date down a month before the actual wedding on my sales contract, so technically it was three weeks late! The two managers are completely useless and are not proactive or very apologetic. they couldn’t tell me anything about the location of the dress or when it would arrive until the week it was due to arrive. I had to phone them regularly for an update rather than them phoning me! Really ruined the whole gown experience for me and caused a lot of unnecessary stress.
Brilliant shop. After having a terrible experience in another bridal shop, my daughter attended her appointment in Berketex in some trepidation. She needn't have worried. The assistant, Tracy, was amazing. She helped my daughter try on 8 wedding dresses some of them twice, before helping her choose the most gorgeous wedding dress. She took her time, was incredibly patient and had so much good advice for my daughter. This was back in June and today after trailing round Glasgow, we went back to Berketex to pick the bridesmaid dresses. Again, the assistant was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this bridal shop.
Worst customer service ever! Will not accept responsibility for making a mess of the alterations on my dress. Please do not put your trust in them like I did and have to wear a dress on your big day that does not make you feel amazing. They do not care how much stress they cause you, they just want your money and for you to go away. Wished I had gone somewhere else for my dress :
I visited this store to try dresses on therefore I cannot comment on their service on what it is like buying from them, however during my appointment the assistant who helped me was very enthusiastic and friendly. Although what has completely turned me off from this shop is their intrusive follow up calls. I received one a about a month after my visit asking if I'd found my dress yet, that there was a sale on that weekend and seemed very pushy to book me in for another appointment. I said I was waiting a few months before I would be looking for my dress again. I added their number to my reject list on my phone because I do not respond well to this kind of pressurised hard sell technique. Yet today around 2 weeks later they called me from a private number trying to catch me out! Again asking have I found my dress and details of their sale. Once again I repeated I would be not looking for my dress until probably next year, however I know I will not be returning to Berketex. I am perfectly capable of deciding which store I would like to buy my dress from and when. Their calls felt invasive. No other bridal shop has contacted me in this manner and it comes across as desperate - not helpful.
Do not buy your dress from this shop. I felt rushed and like everything was a hassle. Some of the staff are fine, but the majority are inexperienced and have no idea about fitting a dress - it is obvious they just want the sale. The shop assistant insisted I pay 60 for a longer length dress as I am tall and that I take their £200 alterations package, - this was supposed to include two alterations BUT I had one alteration - they cut the extra fabric off the bottom of the dress that I had paid £60 quid for! They did NOTHING else to the dress. Be aware that they will not take it out, or add things to the dress that have not been bought from the store. They also sold me a communion veil. I was rushed and stressed and upset on the day, so I think that's why I didn't speak up at the time A truly awful experience. I feel cheated and upset by it all and want to spare any other bride. Please avoid this shop.
Collected my wedding dress on Friday after eight long months since I found it and really grateful to all the ladies who worked so hard to help me along the way, from finding the dress to fitting it! It fits like a glove and now I just can't wait to wear it on my wedding day! I found it in my first appointment during the sale and couldn't believe the price for such a beautiful gown, what a bargain! Would recommend this store to anyone getting married who's looking for gold star service at a super price.
Not a very friendly experience at all. Paid over £1000 for a dress and would expect good service. Very friendly when selling the dress but once they've sold to you the good customer service ends. The fittings were awkward and don't expect any conversation. Some of the detail on teh dress was loose and when I asked about tightening it I was made to feel like I was being demanding. They barely ever answer the phone if you ring the store. Would not recommend to my friends.
I went into the Glasgow store today looking for my daughters Prom dress and l am so glad l did. Not only did l find the dress that makes my daughter feel like a princess the staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this wedding shop.
I ordered my dress from Berketex yesterday and can't rate them highly enough. Candis was amazing and made it such a special and enjoyable experience. Loved every minute of it and can't wait to wear my perfect dress.
If I had a choice it would not get a star. From the moment we walked through the door the reception was chilly. I was measured up for picking dresses and instantly felt judged when they measured me as a size 22 for them, understanding that the sizes are different to highstreet sizes I let that go. So next I was told to pick the dresses I liked to try on and to have a browse through them, but before I knew it I was basically told to hurry up and pick them as there were other appointments, that was a bit of a shock as although i knew it was a sale day and there were other people I still felt that I should be given time to look about. I also asked the woman about prices as I was on a budget, assuming I can't be the only bride that can't afford a £1500 dress and was hoping to get a choice of dresses to suit my budget, instead the woman disregarded this and told me we could discuss prices once I had found a dress and tried it on. I picked the 4 dresses I wanted to try and was taken through to what the woman called a communal dressing room, I was shocked...she proceeded to tell me to strip off infront of the six strangers that were in the room, I knew instantly I wanted to leave the shop especially after I was reduced to tears not being the most confident of people and the woman told me to pull myself together and if I didn't like it to come back another day with a real appointment. Despite her telling me they didn't usually use the private area she took me through to try the dresses on, which I don't understand why she couldn't do this in the first place as I seen plenty of people in there all of which had the same type of appointment as myself. After all this and against by better judgement I tried on the first dress which was completely wrong for me but as I had little choice in my size even though the website clearly stated they had a variety of dresses to choose from in all sizes and ranging from £100 upwards...none of which was true the next dress was one I hadn't even picked and was told to try on, I am 23 and this dress was more suited to the mature bride and gave me no shape whatsoever. Basically I found that I wasn't priority for the staff, I was rushed into dresses and told they suited me even though I knew they didn't and was not happy in them, clearly they wanted a sale and felt the need to lie to get one. The last dress I tried on was the one I loved, but with the price double my budget on sale I could not justify spending that amount on a dress when the customer service was so poor. In reality I wouldn't of given these people a fiver after the way I was treated. No amount of niceness after the first bit of crap I got made up for it and has put me off the whole experience, looking for your wedding dress should be a happy day but I left feeling deflated and really low about myself. I wouldn't recommend this shop even if they had handed me the dress for free. Travelling an hour and a half to be treated like dirt on someone's shoe was not my idea of a stress free happy day of shopping.
