Seafood Restaurant

Story

The sensitive restoration of this famous restaurant has retained many original features of the building and the spirit of Bentley’s original arts and crafts heritage has been preserved in the carefully thought-out choice of furnishings, fabrics and wallpapers. American oak flooring, light wooden panelling and the reframed old Bentley’s fish paintings all add to the relaxed air of calm, understated luxury.

Bentley’s has its own bakery and patisserie and sources all ingredients, such as smoked salmon from Frank Hedderman in Ireland and finest West Cork beef, from some of the best producers in the business. Deliveries arrive fresh in the kitchen every day.

We had a lovely lunch at Bentley’s. The kitchen are truly specialists when it comes to seafood. We had the Fish and Chips, the Caesar Salad with Lobster under the specials of the day, and the Baked Scallops. The Baked Scallops were the best I’ve ever had in my life and the Caesar Lobster Salad was truly delicious. My friends naturally had the oysters and said they were tasty. The bartender was top notch as all cocktails were fantastic. I recommend their special spritz, perfect for summer! The sommelier was also very helpful, quite attentive, and had a great personality. He loves his job. Our Dover Sole took a bit too long to come out and we had a little mix up with the cocktail order, but the staff bounced right back up and continued delivering great service. Tips - Reserve a table in the terrace, weather permitting - Have the oysters for sure - Don’t rush your lunch and get plenty of drinks
Only discovered Bentley when a friend accidentally book the place for dinner. Location 5 min walking from Piccadilly Circus, the restaurant is split into 2 levels and outdoor area under a tent. . The service and the staff were brilliant and professional. I had prior arrangements and had to leave early and the waiter was adamant that I had the pudding before leaving. The food was delicious; the starter was slices of smoked salmon with some green and 2 crunchy bread slices, which reminded me more of croutons - hard and crunchy. The Main was yummy, meat rolled in some pastry dough, with the main you could order some sides, however, the meat itself is enough to fill you. Not a fan of medium, I prefer my meat well done. The pudding was vanilla ice cream mixed with fruits and a thick flavored cream that complimented the ice cream. It was good but not what I expect Vegetarian options: Don't think so, it is after all a seafood and meat restruant Parking: No Wheelchair accessibility: I think the only space for a wheelchair user is to sit outside. There are no elevator to the 2nd floor.
Top notch experience. The food was incredible the best fish pie I've ever had, the service impeccable, the staff all were amazing so a massive thanks for making a great experience even better. I was there for a friend's birthday and they really treated us well. Everything was top quality. Not the cheapest HOWEVER worth every penny and will definitely be going back.
Lovely lunch, the shellfish prawn cocktail was super tasty and served in the prettiest of bowls. The monkfish and prawn curry spicy but not too hot and a really good consistency. My partner had the fish stew which he loved. Our friend had the fish pie, this was delicious, comfort food with elegance.
Bentley started off as a very good experience, and ended as a good good experience. However, the in-between part of the dinner wasn’t up to scratch. Unfortunately, the host that we had was either extremely tired or ready to go home as they kept looking at their watch every time we spoke to them. We felt like we were boring them or they were truly disinterested. When we enquired about what oysters they would recommend that their answer was simply “everything”. Another host was helpful when we asked them. Thank you, that really helped. As far as food goes, this was a good experience for a change and we may visit again, but only for the oysters and a glass or two of champagne. The dark cherry chocolate mousse was impeccable would definitely recommend giving that a go. I would have given service a five stars however, the service let us down. I would have given the food five stars however the £6, very small plate of, Himalayan rice let us down; this could be offered alongside the curry. Otherwise, I wouldn’t flaw this restaurant. Must try once.
The oysters are so fresh and good! The restaurant has great staffs and service. Drinks are okay, starters were fine but the steak was literally the worst stake i had in my life. It wasn’t juicy at all and it was over cooked! The lamp was good tho. I felt nauseous after having food there and I literally throw up everything i had when i got home.
One of the most beautiful seafood restaurants in London. It is characterized by quality, service and variety of dishes. We ordered a variety of seafood dishes, and all of them were wonderful. Also, the appetizers are wonderful. Definitely worth a visit. I will come back again
A hidden treasure. This is the place to come for a delightful array of oysters. I've always been biased towards the French varietals however I was astonished to find that the Louet Feisser oysters from Ireland we practically on par. The dozen went down very well indeed with some delicious Irish Soda Bread which were a treat in their own right. The outdoor seating with numerous heaters were also great to see and you can book ahead as it can get fairly busy, understandably of course. The service was impeccable and the staff were friendly and bubbly. Great find.
Sometimes, you turn down a random alley and find a gem. Excellent food, great service and pleasant live music on the patio. Outdoor heaters. We ate. We drank. We made merry. The only thing missing was a small dance floor because the place was so lovely it made me want to take a romantic spin with my husband. We did spend a lot, but that was only because my husband ordered the whole lobster. You do not have to spend that much. They asked about dietary restrictions and were in every way very professional.
Fabulous dinner as usual. Food and drinks were great. Service need improvement as it’s the third time and we felt the same. Great wine list I just say.
