Delivery took over 2 and a half hours half the food went all over the floor as bag they were in was soggy food was freezing cold chips looked like they were cooked two days ago and what we managed to get on to plates was disgusting greasy and cold and was not eating as contained meat and fish half the order wasn’t even right when we rung up and complained said they would give discount on food and as I was talking hung up then contacted food hub and was offered £10 pound back on a £40 order that we couldn’t eat even after we told them they could come and get the food they then demanded we take it back to the shop and they would give us a full refund we are in lobley hill they are in bensham we advised that could not be possible they refused to do any more I have been a customer a long time and never again will I order from this place don’t no what has happened but the place is the pits now if I could give less then one star I would disgusting food disgusting staff will be reporting to all the relevant food agencies first thing tomorrow morning place needs shut down
Food turned up Hot but stuff missing but the driver proceeded to tell me he had been stood at door for 10 mins bearing in mind it's freezing outside he hadn't knocked or stood there why would he stand in the cold when all he had to do is ring me like he did to tell me he was there WATS THE POINT IN LYING Vegetarian options: No
A very friendly place with lovely food! They do a really creamy and coconutty korma, tasty egg pilau and generously-sized naan, enough for leftovers. I can't afford takeaway very often so this is always a big treat when I can order.

Utter waste of time, we ordered just after 8pm food delivered just before 10pm... with bits missing! We had a 40% off offer to use and genuinely wasn't worth the money even with the discount. Called up a few times regarding our order pretty much fobbed off and rudely hung up on. Our Order: Lamb Tikka Kathmandu - Worst Lamb I've had in a while about 70% gristle. The Sauce seemed to be pretty much chopped tomatoes wiht a few whole chillis thrown in, no flavour at all. no heat, no spice and certainly no ginger. Had upgraded this using their go large option, seems to mean more sauce and thats it. The Garlic Pilau you'd think would be easy to get right.. tasted of ..... rice! no visible garlic in it either, maybe this was wrong also The Chicken Korma was ok but no better than a shop bought sauce, nothing special. Think the nicest thing out of the lot was the onion salad. Doubt we'll go back far better indian takeaways and restaurants in Whickham, I recommend you checkout Jamdani!
We have used Bensham Tandoori for years, but we will be looking for a new Indian takeaway. Food has been very hit and miss recently, items missing, food late. We understand that during lockdown they may have been busier, but our meal tonight was almost an hour late and it was cold, not even warm, it was actually cold.
It arrived 2 hours late within 2 mile radius All food was freezing cold. Both curries were watery and tasteless. Madras made with coconut! Never heard of a coconut madras. Received a very burnt plain naan bread when we paid extra for a garlic and coriander one and it was really small. Mint sauce sooooo watery it fell off me plate, same as curry did. Poppadoms all smashed up and burnt. Salad was sweaty. Received a mixed kebab instead of our two different starters. Small portion of rice between two people. Missed chips off our order and refused to send any. Found a pube in the rice. Everything went in the bin and im still hungry and now we're out of pocket. They didn't listen to me on the phone, talked over me and stated they were too busy for me tonight on a Thursday! need I say more. Worst takeaway I've ever had. Hope they all fall over and scrape their knee.
The food is definitely NOT Indian! I ordered Jalfrezi Chicken which was just tomato sauce with chicken, no spices and definitely not spicy. Actually, I ordered a few more other dishes and none of them were spicy. The Chicken Makhani was very sweet, more like a dessert. I had Indian food and India and other places in Asia. Indian food is spicy or at least flavoured. The Garlic Naan was alright, except it didn't have any garlic on it. The food is not bad, but it's not what you expect to eat.
