Really good trek. Gets the blood pumping, awesome hangover cure with great scenery and trails to follow. Would urge folk to wear suitable footwear and not trainers as can be some boggy areas with water and snow. Also urging people to please keep hold of there litter.! Many times I've passed dog poo bags plus sandwich wrappers. Scotland is beautiful and we should keep her that way.

Walking up Bennachie is a popular way to spend an easy afternoon. There are a few different routes to the summit depending on your energy levels, from short and steep to long but gradual. The steep version is suitable for most ages if you take your time, but will be hard for younger children. Regardless, it's well worth the climb because you get a spectacular 360 view from the top. Be careful in the winter, as it gets treacherous when icy near thee top. There's a nice little visitor centre Tyas taking open from spring to autumn, but the toilets are open all year round. The car park has plenty of spaces but isn't free.

be aware of opening times as the centre is seasonal. the centre has some great displays about the local nature and biodiversity of the area and is a good resting stop on your way up or down Beannachie.
