The staff were very friendly, and handled a large group of people very well! The atmosphere was pleasant. I liked the lighting, and it wasn't too loud inside. The scotch egg had a great balance of flavours. The sauce that it was on added a nice tanginess to it. The egg was cooked perfectly, and the sausage wasn't raw or over cooked. I had the vegetarian roast, and that was very nice as well. A bit more mushroom than I was expecting, but I didn't mind that. The apple pie was very nice, and the maple crumb added an interesting texture. As well as a flavour that accompanies the crumble very well.
Enjoyed a lovely meal in this period country pub. Not far from Windsor where we'd looked around the shops, we googled pubs near Bray and found this one just tucked around the corner off Holyport green. The cheese soufflé and Venison pie were flavoursome beautifully accompanied by a wonderful glass of rioja, perfect!Food: 5/5
Great atmosphere, cost and inviting. We booked a late lunch around 3pm and the place was relatively full without being uncomfortable. There was a fire going and people could bring dogs. The place was a great option for groups of 6 or less dining and for drinks. Service was a little slow at times but this was just in the busiest period. Great menu options for all dietary needs and high quality and large meals. Would recommend booking a table if going on a weekend Vegetarian options: There were 2 vegan option mains-mushroom and chestnut Wellington plus gnocchi. There was also a vegan Waldorf salad starter and other nibbles as well as a dessert. Great quality and the staff were happy to answer questions
A great experience. The staff were polite, friendly and discreet but always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was brilliant and well presented. The atmosphere inside is welcoming. I highly recommend this pub. Kid-friendliness: menu enfants disponible,
Extraordinary in every aspect Very accommodating for those who are Gluten Free. We had the Sunday Roast Pork Belly. I won't tell their secret of how they gave us the best roast dinner we've ever had. We had to take our time to enjoy every single mouthful slowly. Their chef is a genius. Portions ample also. Gluten Free options for pudding looked so tasty but we had no room, and I know we will be back, having just moved a few miles away in Cookham. Shout out to Imogen and Elias:
Absolutely delicious scotch egg. Best I've ever had. Superb bangers and mash. And lovely atmosphere. Good time had by all. Lovely if you are lucky enough to get the chance to sit by the fireplace too, with a glass of scotch. Just great food and service and atmosphere. Thank you very much.Food: 5/5
Visited here with family, great pub with an old but cosy atmosphere. Really enjoyed the Sunday roast and as did all my family. We will all visit againFood: 5/5
Very nice restaurant but no atmosphere. There was only one other table there. They had a lovely wood fire and wise selection on the menu.Food: 4/5
While the service and staff were on point, the food portions were ridiculously small. Literally had to get a kebab afterwards...Food: 1/5
Family Sunday lunch. Proper home cooked sunday roast with all the trimmings. Great service, pleasant surroundings. Good value.
