Saw the rave about this bagel shop and decided to give it a try on our way to the flower market, and thought it was a very decent meal! got the chicken one this time around, and my wife actually liked it because she doesn’t like too much sauces on her bagels - it was a little dry for me, but it’s still good. chocolate croissant was good too, pretty big in size and is decently flavoured as well While both of them are cold, which is the only setback, it’s very affordable and good in its own - will be back if we can!
Tried this super popular bagel shop in the middle of Brick Street that is DE vintage shopping street. Long lines on weekends and we came back on Mon night and the line is more sane. stepping into the bagel shop feels like time stood still. Old school bakery. Also, their prices felt like inflation hasn’t affected them. Their salt beef bagel is stuffed with chunks of beef, which I suspect is possibly 150-200g beef with pickle and mustard. Their smoke salmon and cream cheese bagel has a generous portion of stuffing too. Very hearty and satisfying meal especially to fuel up while vintage shopping. Their coffee and drinks are also possibly the most affordable around too. Note: no sitting area. Only has take aways.
After a long journey from Prague to London, I was eager to try this famous spot, even though I was exhausted and still carrying my backpack. I ordered their classic Salted Beef with Pickled Cucumber bagel. The portion of beef was incredibly generous, and the meat was quite salty—almost too salty, in my opinion. The bagel had a good chewiness to it, which I appreciated, but overall, the experience was just okay. The price was surprisingly lower than I expected, at only £6.3, which is definitely a plus considering it’s in London. However, the atmosphere in the shop was quite average and didn’t live up to the hype. Still, the large portion of beef is something you don’t often find in London, so it’s worth a try if you’re in the area.
Expect prompt service and long queues as this place is very popular for their bagels. I came here nearing towards an afternoon on a weekend and queues quickly started to pile up. Though, queues move relatively fast. I ordered their infamous salted beef bagel with pickle and mustard. Great portion of beef on the bagel and offered a salty tang, but not too much. Bagel bun itself was chewy and soft which was perfect. All of that for £6.20 isn’t too bad. Understandable why it’s so popular. Not the most friendliest service as it is a bustling grab and go kind of thing, but that is to be expected. Finally can tick this place off of my list.
The one and only! Legend in London for bagels all day and night. Cream cheese and salmon and salted beef are delights and they haven’t changed prices in a long time so still very good option price wise as well. Super quick service, absolutely unbeatableFood: 5/5
Tried the salt beef bagel with gherkin and pickle. Was amazing! And good value too considering the massive slabs of beef you get in it. Think it was £13 for 2. My sister had the salmon bagel and said that was good too. The staff were pretty rude but I still give it 5 stars overall because the food was incredible.Food: 5/5
Well known for its salt beef bagel which has a generous amount of beef in it. There’s always a queue as this place is popular. I also ordered the simple cream cheese bagel. The bagel is pretty good, chewy and good consistency. Price is reasonable.
A London institution really, famous for anything bagel particularly the salt beef bagel. Deep filled with chunks of beef smothered with English mustard accompanied by crunchy gherkins. Chewy bagel, undoubtedly freshly baked. Opens 24 hours a day. Expect long queues during peak hours.Food: 4/5
The bagels are good and chewy, and very cheap for what you get. I ordered the salt beef bagel approx £6 and although I really liked the bread I thought the fillings themselves lacked a bit of flavour, so was a bit underwhelmed. I'd return just for the the plain and seeded bagels baked fresh for about 40/50p each!. Haven't tried any of their other fillings so can't comment on those. Overall, they bake great bread and keep their products cheap the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel was just over £3. Worth a visit.
Not exactly sure why it is so overhyped with regard to taste. It tastes like a normal beigel sandwich. Nothing very distinctive. Yes in terms of quality, it tasted fresh and refreshing. It is undoubtedly a value for money item to savour. It cost me 6.50£ with mustard and pickles. I waited for about 6-8 minutes in the line at about 12:30 in the afternoon and the staff were quick. It is certainly going to be a one time eat for me. I'd most likely not crave for one.
