Story

⌥ Delve down a dimly fluorescent flight of stairs at 411 MARE ST.; behind this wall is a contemporary neighbourhood basement bar on the top of the NARROW WAY, Hackney Central. The bar was built and is run by friends with a singular approach to design, music and drinking. You can BOOK A TABLE /AREA with us or HIRE out the whole space for yourself. Walk-ins are always welcome.

☊ A note on our hi-fi: the system has been assembled from composite (storied) parts from the 'golden era' of our native audio industry; with disparate complemtary elements from Tannoy, Papworth, E.A.R. & JBL.

⌁ Through music & community, BTW additionally houses a recording imprint & studio known as THE RUSHES; we also offer complete bar services & packages for events.

Tucked away and down some stairs you’ll find yourself transported to a Japanese style listening bar, complete with the audiophile sound system, banging cocktails and friendly smiles. You’re a local as soon as you step foot in here. What’s more they have some mega parties on the most intimate of dance floors.

Fantastic little bolt hole in the middle of Hackney-madness. Interesting cocktails and fairly priced when all things considered, a great back bar selection, friendly staff and a fabulous sound system. Great as a date night spot or just for propping up the bar. One of east London's very best.
A long-time favourite. Drinks are some of the most interesting and delicious you’ll find, and new every season so I can’t even remember the names of my favourites!. Evenings in the bar always accompanied by carefully-selected music, with the occasional late-night knees-up for good measure. Highly recommended!
A fantastic little neighborhood bar in Hackney. The drinks are not only delicious, but unpretentious and very well delivered. The team are always welcoming, knowledgeable and at hand to provide great recommendations. A must whether you're in the area or not!
I've been to the bar a number of times, it has an amazing local feel, genuinely laid back, the most charming and friendly bar staff who know the menu's intimately. Must also mention great music selection whenever I've been. I would recommend settling in there for a cosy mid week evening.
