Visited for the first time yesterday. It's a big place and it was really busy. Raymond had his work cut out for him poor guy, one till open to order food, and he was the guy taking the order's. When I was in the cue to order three people before me and about six joined after me, the app to order from was useless according to customer's in the cue. Then when we were all placing our orders we were told 30-40 minutes wait for food. On a Saturday in a busy place how is this possible? More staff needed maybe? Has for the food some items that we wanted to order they didn't have. The gammon on the mixed grill was more like bacon..but apart from that, the food was good. Raymond you need a medal mate, you dealt with everything that was thrown at you like a champ. I was glad some of the bar staff finally started to help by making drinks for some customers as at one point you were doing everything yourself.
I went last week for the time since the refurb... What a difference!!! The staff, food, atmosphere was outstanding. Was greeted by the lovely Sandra who has worked there a While and was then served by a bartender named Ray, who was very polite, pleasant, smart and with a constant smile on his face. I enjoyed it that much I have been back today and would give it 5 star again. Very impressed.
Omg I've been to alot of carverys but I must admit this is the best, they give me that much meat I had to leave some,in Runcorn that's where I am from they give you just 2 pieces, I will be going back,
Phoned to book a table at 11am for 2.30pm on a Sunday. Taken to table straight away and was eating a gorgeous carvery within 5 minutes. 3 meats to choose from, gammon, beef and turkey, lots of vegetables cooked perfectly, also new potatoes and mash, gorgeous roast potatoes and parsnips, lashings of thick gravy and a giant Yorkshire pudding. Lots of sauces too. Really enjoyed it. Good service
Fantastic place to eat, had a tool box talk their, went their today 15-12-2022 had the STEAK & CHICKEN CHEESE Fondue fantastic great value for money all the people with me wished they had picked A1, then had CHERRY BAKEWELL TART Served with vanilla flavour ice cream, think this could be improved on the ice cream wasn't very nice less ice cream and of better quality and would be a fantastic finish to a great meal
Managed to get a table as we didn’t book. Table at the side of us had been cleared but the floor was full of food and wasn’t cleaned up.Been for the carvery before but this time ordered off main menu. When it eventually arrived the chips were cold. My husbands was served in a small bowl - looked like a kids dinner. No one came to ask if everything was ok otherwise we would of said . People sat at the bar swearing etc not nice when children are with you. Would not recommend and we will definitely not be going again .
Best carvery I had in years 10/10.
Last time I went here was quite impressed. Unfortunately not tonight, only one meat on the Carvery 6pm went for a hot chicken burger but no hot sauce, so back to the one meat carvery. The mash had a grim thick layer on top obviously been there for a while. Husband got a full English one side of the toast was not toasted and the egg seriously over cooked and broken, mushrooms like rubber.
Looks really nice after the refurbishment. Food was really nice. Value for money. Will definitely go back again. A couple of the staff members were a little bit rude. Maybe having a bad day. Will still go back
Stopped off whilst on our way home from Windermere. Can honestly say it’s the best carvery we have ever had, the staff are fantastic plus they have sky sports! Brilliant pub!
